Planned Battle Rating changes for April 2025

It’s a normal Type 90 with DM33, so NO.

Still stomps everything slightly below its BR, and completely mauls 10.3s.

Vehicle: Every single Tornado IDS variant except GR.4
Mode: Air RB
Change: 11.7(3)->11.0
Reason: In AIR ONLY gamemode these jets are ridiculously high for what they offer. Not that fast anyway, turns poorly and has only 2 Aim-9Ls. As 11.0 it would sit with very similar jets like Su-17s or Mig-27s each having their own pros and cons even F-4Fs or F-104s. Since the BR separation happened long time ago IDS’s should get some attention.

Mode: Simulator Battles

Vehicle: Saab J35D

BR Change: 10.7 → 10.0

Reasoning:

The J35D has no RWR or Countermeasures. If attacked, it has no conventional defense or forewarning. Given it’s poor rearward visibility, this is a deal breaker at it’s current BR, where it has to fight F-4E’s and Mig-21SMT’s. It also can’t carry radar missiles, and so can only engage from close behind a target. While the Mirage IIIC’s at 10.3 also have no countermeasures, at least they have radar missiles, and the CJ has an RWR. For further comparison, 10.0 is the domain of the F8U-2, an aircraft with RWR and countermeasures. For lack of all three, but decent straight-line airspeed, I’d put the J35D at 10.0.

Anecdotal.

I am seeing it from the RB viewpoint so yea we are not going to see eye to eye at all

in RB flying low is where its the most fun as you outperform everything that isn’t the overperforming F5

if T10 went to 12.0 as I suggested it would see early spamraamers and the dreaded F14 so the gameplay would be worsened slightly but the raw performance and capabilities of this aircraft fit far better

it should but gaijin don’t give a toss about that plane

Issue is, it wouldnt be 12.0. It would be 12.3 alongside the Gr7. Especially as the T.10 (at last time I checked) has the more powerful Mk107 engine at the moment and so should if anything be a higher BR than the GR7 with 9Ms. (though it should have the Mk105)

Given the Gr7 exists, it doesnt seem worth having 2x Identical aircraft at the same BR just for the Premium bonus

Again, R2Y2 8.0- 7.7/7.3 (at least GRB it should be 7.7/7.3, before Kikka, Japan doesn’t have any good jet fighter at this BR range)

That’s correct, but it doesn’t mean it isn’t true.

Ariete (P) is 10.7 with DM33, along with a 6s reload and no armour / survivability.
Type 90 is 11.3 with DM33, with a 4s reload, much better mobility, good amount of armour and fairly good survivability.

I don’t think that makes sense.

I’m not so sure I agree with that statement for the early gen Harriers, but either way it needs to go down for sure.

All Harriers are underperforming significantly.

  • Missing load of FM performance
  • IR signature is a mess (even without flares, the Harrier GR1 shouldnt be defenceless against IR missiles due to VIFF tactics)
  • Even the sooty exhaust is wrong

Combine with SRAAM fixes (like the fact they dont work below 400m and should work out to 2km) there is a lot of potential locked behind the Harriers at the moment.

Its really hard to place them appropriately with that in mind.

But the biggest issue is that 9.X is such a compressed mess and the Harriers are good example, with the Harrier GR1 with no CMs, Harrier GR3/AV-8C with 60CMs and AV-8A and AV-8S with 240 CMs all at the exact same BR.

J-11A: 13.7 → 13.3

The J-11A is, quite literally, the weakest jet at 13.7. It has the worst RWR, and the worst radar at that BR which only has a single datalink slot. Aside from missile count, it’s outclassed in almost every aspect—radar, RWR, and overall performance—even by 13.3 jets like the MiG-29SMT and F-16D. There’s absolutely no reason this aircraft should be sitting at a higher BR than those.

yea its currently technically a T12 not a T10.

I’m 99% sure the literal plane its stock skin is based on was upgraded to T12 spec from my own searching for the real thing so it’s accurate in all but name as far as that goes

I mean the trainer has the beluga head so at least will look different. and premium equals isn’t novel to WT at all

Tanks that are in 8.7, DO NOT CHANGE TO 9.0! Even more so if it’s premium! What are they going to do against 10.0? Absolutely nothing! Since most of them already have thermals and from 10.0 to 11.0 is where most battles are concentrated! ALL T-55s are not good enough to go to 9.0. Making these changes will only be killing more vehicles in the game.

Instead of making these changes that will not solve anything, they will only make things worse, change your matchmaker’s BR! Instead of a +1 and -1 MM, make one of +0.7 and -0.7 of the player’s BR. Simple, easy and practical and it will benefit ALL vehicles in the game and solve hundreds of imbalances that you are not even looking at yet! Do this and forget about these stupid spreadsheets full of makeup.

This way, a player who, for example, is going to play with vehicles from 10.0, will no longer fall against 9.0 or 11.0, but will fall at most against 9.3 and 10.7, which are levels with many vehicles!

I’ve noticed that all BRs ending in .3 and .7 have the most vehicles and they can close fights most of the time and there’s no need for a 9.7 to fall against 10.7, falling against 10.3 is great! This is a much more advantageous change than changing vehicle by vehicle like they’re doing. Be smart, please! The WoT and AW devs are already stupid enough.

YES! The current italian F-16A ADF is a fantasy version that never existed. It’s using weapons that it never had, and missing the weapons it actually used. Not to mention the avionics that comes with making the plane Amraam compatible.

YES MOVE THE TO 9.0

7.7 is extremely compressed and there needs to be some stress relief where people see their first notable cold war vehicles

Agreed except I’d move it up in air RB as well. To keep it at the same BR as the F-104S and Tornado IDS when they have rear-aspect only and only 2 9Ls respectively, would not be fair with the phantom I’m assuming have at least 4 9Ls alongside its better radar and SARH options. Alternatively and ideally tbh the Starfighters and all Tornado IDS variants should move down in RB at which point it becomes less crucial to move the Phantom up, though 11.7 might still be fitting.

It finally happened, the plane that terrorized new players(especially the ones that played bombers). Now they need to lower the altitude but increase the forward distance of dive bombers airspawns(I think that would fix the problem?) so they can’t as easily bomber hunt.

FGR2 with 9Ls would still be weaker than the Tornado ADVs at 12.0 and largely on par with the Mig-23MLD at 11.7.

Tornado IDS is 11.3 and shouldnt be a baseline for the FGR2 with 9Ls at 12.0 and the F-104S ASA has 9Ls too. Though should probably be 11.7

This is arguably the best change to a vehicle WT has ever done
