What great armour?
the T55AMD-1 has the same turret as a T55 which is a modified T54 turret…
The hull while has the composite on it can be shot clean through by any of the 105mm APDS at 8.3 never mind 8.7

That’s cool and all but also a 2 way street. It has better armor than any other 8.7 by a pretty wide margin and not every tank has APDS. A lot of them get heat which the hull excells at blocking. The only thing that comes close to it in armor is the ZTZ59D1 and M60 RISE which get the same kind of heat protection, but is a standard T-54 turret/M60 against all other rounds. Meanwhile the AMD-1 has amazing turret protection compared to everything at or below its br. You’re also not looking at the most important part which is that it terrorizes 7.7. When I play 7.7 France (And I think we can universally agree that France gets the strongest 7.7 lineup until Gajiin nerfs that too) I always whip out the Surbaissé first spawn in a full uptier just so I can point-and-click the AMD-1s I meet just like they do to me regularly.

Completely ignoring the fact its got one of the worst rounds for the BR in its APFSDS, it may have APHE, and a missile but you shouldn’t be using either of those over an APFSDS.

Pretending the APHE shouldn’t be used? That’s a paddlin’. The APHE is the primary round I use because it’s way better to just one-shot nuke tanks through weakpoints than it is to gamble on reload time. With the help of the laser rangefinder it’s not a problem to go weakpoint hunting at any range. If I meet something the APHE can’t handle then it’s time for APFSDS.

Its a good 8.7, there are far better tanks at 8.7 than the T55AM1 and AMD1
hell even the object 435 is miles ahead of both of them.

That’s just flat out untrue when it comes to the AM-1. I literally can’t think of a single tank with a better package than it at 8.7.

the tank while good for 8.7 should not be forced to face off against 10.0s! have you ever fought a leopard 2K in a T55? it doesn’t work.
Youve got 125mm of angle pen which is about 100 less than most 10.0s have.

“I can’t pen a couple of tiny spots on a singular 10.0. With my dart and decided APHE is bad. Aaaah! It’s over!” APHE exists. Use it to nuke every tank there is at 10.0

Its not though, its about the same and only 2kmph faster, hence the comparison to the chieftain.

HP/T of AM-1: 16.6
HP/T of Magach 6M: 14
HP/T of Kal Dalet: 13.8
HP/T of TTS: 13.4
HP/T of Chieftain Mk 10: 12.5
Seems legit.

Better round: who cares? You have APHE and dart works fine.

The T72A actually was something i was about to bring up, the fact of hte matter is, if the T55Am1 and AMD1 go to 9.0
the Merkavas to 9.7,
the shir 2 to 10.0
the T72A should go to 9.7 and the T64B up to 10.0.

Everyone should go up just to suit my 1 tank.

Its not one vehicle, its two for a start.
Secondly it creates greater imbalance as these tanks will get clubbed. meaning the tanks in the Br bracket around it will seem better and move up due to the score they recieve not on how they perform overall.

So you think the sheer volume of AM-1s will singlehandedly change the entire bracket? Lol. One tank isn’t gonna change the world because lets be real, nobody plays the AMD-1 when there are so many better options

I’ll preface this with the context that I enjoy IFVs, ATGM carriers, M551/M60A2, & doing dumb things like running HESH only, so play at lot of 8.0-9.0 which I personally feel is the most generally balanced area in game (Ground vs Air wise that is), & have not ground out Russia so have not played the AMD.

Personally I find the AMD not OP, but extremely annoying to fight. You see a lot of them at the BR, and combined with dodgy turret syncing, they no-sell a lot of the dumb things I like doing/playing.
I’m not really sure what to do about it though, as it’s more a combination of map design funnelling players into CQB engagements (and therefore reducing flanking options etc), and the sheer quantity of the things, (and well, the typical lack of team play). Increased cool-down on the APS maybe? Count an APS interception as enough of a hit to appear on the map? (not sure if that is done or not already tbh)

The T-55AM-1/AMD have been downright oppressive for the 8.0-8.7 bracket, the only reason not to move them up has been the comparative poor performance of 3BM25 above 9.0, otherwise them moving up is good. Them moving up and and the TURM III not moving is… hmm…

As i said, to move the T55Amd1 and AM1 up we should have decompression.

Im sorry but if you’re not using the 3BM25 as a main round on the T55A or above then thats your issue.
The APFSDS is a substantially more reliable round.

Object 435 at 8.7 is better.
same reload, 14,5 mm MG, better mobility, 115mm gun.

Shot Kal gimel is better. DM23, LRF, decent protection and great turret and hull traverse.

Im talking from experience, before the 2K was 10.0 it used to see the T55Am1, I also used to use it in a lineup with the turms.
The T55AM1 is not an efficient tank against 10.0s.

Chieftain mk10 is the heaviest one.
mk5 has 13.8 hp at which isnt even a whole ass 3 HP/T lower than it.
the T55s are not extremely mobile tanks.

brenus isnt that opressive, its armor isnt strong enough to bounce anything else but heat reliably and it doesnt have a reaction advantage like one would have with a stabilizer.
most 7.7 tanks dont really have a problem dealing with it.

Ground Realistic: Strv 103C 9.0 → 8.7 Considering the extremely limited ability of the vehicle not being stabilized, and being comparable to the already present SK-105A2 / JaPz.K A2 — being kinda more hard to kill but lacking a turret, thermal, and the light tank mechanic, while sharing the same firepower (fire rate and weak spot penetration potential) — it should probably even be lowered in BR. But I will not force it and simply accept it stays the same BR. However, I understand no one plays …
