You have around 600ish more RB battles than i do overall. Don’t pretend like it changes anything. When it comes to KV-1E itself i have 6 times more battles than you with about the same WR and KD. I also have additional hundred or so battles in the german variant.
Which is exactly what i mentioned in my message, you missed the point entirely. I doubt this tank will be good on 4.3, but a harsh truth is that it doesn’t need to be. It won’t be useless by any means and it will give some breathing room to everything else in it’s BR.
It’s not balanced and will never be without proper BR decompression. It will either be on the too strong or too weak side. And no, this tank is not uncommon by any means. You could argue that the German version is quite uncommon (but still i meet it at least once per each longer 4.0 session), but the Russian version is all over the place. Even if it’s not at sale, you meet at least one in nearly every game and when it’s actually in store it’s so incredibly opressive there is no point in even entering the queue in this BR in anything else than M44, flakbus or IKV 103.
You would be surprised. Whether Pz IV is better is very, very arguable, but leaving that aside, you again seem to forget that 4.0 is a low BR full of new players. KV-1E is exactly the type of vehicle you don’t want in such environment. It’s the prime example of sealclubber vehicle.
Anything with 100 pen or so can kill the KV-1E. But it’s not the point, anything is killable. It’s about the fact that you have to pixel snipe him, and he doesn’t. It’s an unhealthy tank, that deserves to be brough up in BR to improve the overall gameplay experience of this entire BR range.
The better the player, the overall worse will be his opinion about this vehicle, since it relies on getting good matchmaking and bad enemies. But it sadly happens to be in a BR that although it’s arguable doesn’t get full uptiered all that often (the most common matchmaking is 4.7 which is good enough for it to bully everything) and is full of new players which generally have absolutely no idea on how to deal with it
I agree. Either that or nerf it’s aim or flight model. This company never ceases to amaze me with their lack of common sense when introduce a round, that in the right hands can just one shot everything on the map.
Lower plate isn’t a weakspot unless you drive straight at the enemy like an idiot. And breech isn’t something i would call a reliable weakspot either. It has a lot of angled parts and loves to trigger volumetric. Not to mention you can just slap bushes on it and you are nearly guaranteed for the enemy to screw up at least their first shot or two until the bushes fall off.
We don’t live in a perfect world and that should be reflected in balancing. Some vehicles even if technically not overpowered deserve to be brought up just to improve the gameplay experience. This is what happened to IS-6, Jumbo, KV-1 ZiS and KV-220.
And let’s be real KV-1E does statistically overperform. Don’t try to pretend like it will be useless at 4.3 in every single game played. If you expect your heavy tank to perform in full uptier just as well as it does in other games, your expectations are wrong.
You are looking at the maximum BR it can fight at, not the minimum. Because it is currently fighting mostly against the Su-33, and if you raise it even higher, it will fight against all FOX-3 carriers and will be the same punching bag for combat as the F-15A, which for some reason is not on your list.
For the F-15A in Avia RB, you also need to reduce the BR to 12.7, it is completely unplayable at its BR, you will be killed by FOX-3 from 40 km, and you with your AIM-7 Sparrows should fly almost point-blank to the planes.
They also suggest raising the BR for the Pantsir S1 to 12.3 - 12.7. So that it doesn’t hit players at 11.0. I can’t fly my phantoms at 11.0 because there is a Pantsir that knocks me down at any distance.
I’m a new player (i begin to play actively middle of january) i’m French and i go to French tech tree i’m actualy at 9.7 and i’m chocked by this post.
At 6.7 i do good think with AMX13 and AMXM4 but my best with the M26 Pershing … I remember i switch to 5.3 to 6.7 directilly because no good transition line up … The transition is hard for new player experienced player kill you at much long range and so much véhicule are armored the french advantage is a little bit speed and autoloader but if you up at 7.0 i don’t think its good at 8.0 the technological gap be so hard …
For the AMX40 actually i’m trouble for the grind of rang 8 i have only 2 choice take my 3 9.7 and (grind/buy) the CV9035NL and make a 9.7 line for unlock first Leclerc or farm the leo2 of NL and go to 10.7 with 3 9.7 … Make the AMX40 at 10.0 don’t resolve the problem maybe is it strong at 9.7 but you are like all french tank in paper if you make a mistake you be kill instantly and the Vextra can’t deal properlie at up tier the APFSDS do a lot of non pen or bounce specially vs russian tank …
I up israel too with my french now at 9.3 the two merkava are good but not god mod i never played vs 8.3 i always at 9.7 or 10.0 or 10.3, i planned too played then with the sabra at 9.7 => future 10.0 …the namer i don’t know never played him but i planned too play it with merkava 3 11.3 don’t change something, but i planned too have Kurnass 2000 for CAS at 11.3 and you would like too uped him at 11.7 …
I’m a little bit disapointed some change are possibly justified but before do this you need too think about new player like me, we have so many difficulties too make line up with France so much gap between the BR and don’t have so many rang 7 for grind the Rank 8 and with israel you need too give proper SPAA with radar (can’t believe we have no radar at top tier …) the country as know too have Iron Dome but in game we have no spaa with radar … and you up plane …

That’s very much not the case. Ofc stats and abilities are the most important metric when deciding vehicle’s BR, but there are cases where it isn’t enough.
Very good example of that was the recent F-14 IRIAF BR increase. Was the vehicle inherently overpowered at it’s BR of 12.7? No, it wasn’t. Good player could avoid it’s missiles and certain planes could counter it. But it had certain mechanics making it extremely unfun to go up against and if you were in a lower BR aircraft without proper countermeasures, you were simply screwed. And how did it end up? Under the pressure of playerbase it was brought up to 13.0 where it’s just food for top tier planes. Is it balanced now? No. Was is balanced earlier? No, it wasn’t and likely never will unless BR decompression happens.
This is the very same situation KV-1E is in. It’s a generally overperforming vehicle, but to an acceptable extent. But what makes it stand out are toxic and opressive mechanics, which make certain vehicles, certain parts of playerbase or certain configurations of vehicles (stock) be at a much bigger disadvantage while facing it than they would be in case of any other tank in the game.
Absolutely not, hell, even tanks with exceptional armor don’t necesarilly need to go up. Like Churchill AVRE is also incredibly tough to destroy for new players and remains at 2.7. Should it go up? No.
The problem with KV-1E is that it combines being extremely easy to play, overperforming, being low tier and non new player friendly mechanics into one thing. It requires incomparably more effort on the side of the enemy than it does on the side of the player playing it, the very exact situation the F-14 IRIAF was in if you skip the being low tier part. And i personally believe KV-1E deserves the same treatment.
The game’s main goal is to be fun. If a single vehicle can go up and just throw that out of the window by just appearing in the match, it deserves to be nerfed.
I am an experienced player myself, i would say well above average for this playerbase. I have hundreds of battles in this tank and i perfectly know how to counter it. Yet i still don’t find facing it fun at all. It’s just how it is designed and there is nothing that can be done about that.
I don’t have that many problems killing the KV-1E unless they wiggle, which makes any of those tanks impossible to kill, including many USA tanks.
The IS-6 and jumbo were moved up to be more fair based on their great stats.
The IS6 is no longer in that boat.
The KV-1 Zis was brought up to be more in line with the German 5.0 Kv, and the 1942 in the Sweden tree, which is wild because the turret armor is far better on the other two.
There’s a lot of vehicles that’s over preform that never see br changes, stats wise we don’t know what gaijin has, it’s probably similar to the king Tiger sla, at about an average of 2.0~
I expect my heavy tank to be a heavy… tank? And have some capabilities in 4.3, 4.7, and 5.0.
In my experience medium tanks definitely can and usually do better.
Are they? I don’t think so. The biggest drawback of the AMX-50-100 and Lorraine is the smaller magazine size and slower magazine replenishment, but the higher penetration is a big bonus because you’re no longer completely countered by T-55s and can penetrate the turret face
