Planned Battle Rating changes for April 2025

Vehicle: USS New Orleans
Mode: Naval realistic
BR Change: 5.7->5.3
Reasoning: You are planning to move Baltimore and Pittsburgh down to 5.7 fro 6.0 which both vastly outperform New Orleans (better guns, better armor, better aa, better layouts). USS New Orleans also received a muzzle velocity nerf for its APHE last major update making its APHE worse than one found on US 5.3 heavy cruisers (Northampton, Pensacola, Portland). Only 823 m/s compared to 853m/s.
Its main issue being unprotected bridge still lowers its potential. With weaker APHE than the 5.3 US heavy cruisers it can easily go down now that Baltimore class is at 5.7 and be compared to the 5.3 cruisers option with more turret armor trading that for less penetration on APHE and no bridge protection.
Alternatively keep Baltimore class at 6.0. A decompression to 7.3 br would help avoid issues like New Orleans being same br as Baltimore class.

yeah thats to high br for the tanks i mentioned, besides the leclerc and maybe the ariete.

Br: 12.0 > 12.7

Those vehicles are currently the best of their respective nations and should have its br increased to open space for vehicles before them, also it would help to descompression of top tier and for future new vehicles (somes others not mentioned could be moved to this Br but would require some attention or improvement).

honestly with how slow the vamp is id put it 7.3 and have venom at 7.7

TKX(p) being put at a higher BR than the type-90s makes as much sense as the AMX13 being put at 7.0.
If you want to make the TKX(p) a higher br, for the love of gog fix that transmission

Vehicle: F-104S (including TAF)

Game mode: Air RB

Changes: 11.3 > 11.0

Reasons: the F-104S has great acceleration and an excellent top speed, and on paper carrying up to 6 missiles is a strength. In practice however, we see a different story. Rear-aspect only IR missiles easily defeated by flares comprise most of the armament, and while the Aim-7E (not E2s even) is an okay radar missile, the poor radar on the F-104S holds them back severely. In addition, taking unreliable radar missiles means losing one of your only strengths as the Starfighter in its fabulous M-61 Vulcan. When you have a full load out the drag slows you down to the point where you are now caught by Mirages, Mig-23s, etc… and with no opportunity to really counter them. The F-104S, like the G model performs decently in a downtier without being ridiculously overpowered, however in an uptier it becomes combat ineffective against most all opponents. When facing vehicles with similar speed, better turning, far better radars and SARH missiles, and plenty of all-aspect and/or IRCCM missiles, it’s apparent that the F-104S does not belong.

What if the 2A7/122, M1A2s and Type 10 / TKX went to 12.3?

I wouldn’t see a problem with that.

It’s better than it being able to face T-72Bs, TURMS-T, and TTD in a full downtier, let alone the 10.7 MBTs in a slight downtier.

It can’t go up unless it gets a better RWR. The MLD is also better than it is, and probably could be 11.0.

This thing is a mess mate, I know I’m quite terrible with some aircraft but I tried to make this thing work as an attacker & as a stopgap fighter but my goodness this thing is poodoo.

Its engine is under powered, the armament for 2.3 is lacking & the bombload is pitiful, I’d honestly pay to see DEFYN make it work.

At BR, & above/ below it are better alternatives be them as attackers or stopgap fighters, great example the A-36 which is basically a P-51A with an airspawn.

I would argue that 1.7 is a good enough BR as there’s already the SBD-3 0.3 BR lower with better forward armament/ bombload & an a higher airspawn.

Please Gaijin developers, reduce the combat rating of the A-10C, it is very weak and cannot play at this BR.

ZTZ99A has 27.3 HP/Ton.

Mode: Air RB
BR: 11.7 > 11.3
Reasoning: The Tornado IDS (1995) is the exact same aircraft as the regular Tornado IDS, other than the addition of guided bombs. The guided bombs only affect it’s effectiveness in Ground Battles, but has zero impact on Air Battles. Lowering it’s BR will also make it a lot less punishing in uptiers, and it won’t meet 12.7 aircraft.

bruh if you think that the TKX p is = to any of the 11.7 tanks currently in the game you have massive delusions. GL with your life!

M1A1 is literally better than the all the current 11.3 japanese tanks and isnt moving in BR inshallah. People are just complaining because they dont understand how the game works and what is and isnt good. Your comments are case and point. They have no brain and just see 4 second reload and then cry.

Vehicle - OTOMATIC
Mode - Ground RB
BR - 11.3 > 10.7
Reasoning: The OTOMATIC is severely underperforming at it’s BR because it simply cannot shoot down the current CAS planes it meets at and around it’s BR. Even in real life it only had an effective range of around 4km, which is FAR exceeded by the effective range of any strike aircraft over 10.7. Comparing the OTOMATIC to the 2S38 which is believed to take on the same role in real life, it lacks radar, but has a huge magazine (whereas the OTOMATIC can only shoot 29 rounds before having to reload), unlimited anti-armor ammunition (OTOMATIC has only 12 APFSDS shells available), better thermals, better mobility, much smaller size, laser warning system and the benefits of a light tank (Scouting and UAV).

We should get the Malawi/Nigeria full trim export spec for fox to compensate for this, meaning electrical traverse to bring it back to what it was.

Seafire LF III (UK/France)

Realistic Mode
BR: 5.0 → 4.3

The Seafire III doesn’t do anything better than the Spitfire Mk IX at 4.3 and is in some ways worse than it due to the Supercharger gears being optimised for low altitudes, which only lets the Seafire somewhat compete with the Mk IX at lower alitiudes with an older engine, and it’s at the same BR as the Spitfire XVI and 190Ds(!). It’s one of the more overtiered Spitfires in the game and has been left to languish unused at an unusable Battle Rating for too long.

1000000000% agree, with the new changes to how ammo is replenished in the ammo rack it takes 2x longer to get your rounds back. This SPAA should be 10.7 if the 2S6 is 10.7 literally no reason the oto cant be 10.7.

Vehicle: F-104S ASA

Game mode: Air RB

Changes: 12.0 > 11.7/11.3

Reasons: The F-104S ASA takes the performance of the F-104S, which was mediocre at best at 11.3, and brings it to 12.0 unchanged. Its only advantage is now irrelevant as it’s outpaced by virtually all its peers. The Aim-9Ls are a welcome improvement over the 9Ps however you only get 4 flare hungry missiles now. Alternatively, you can now put your fancy new MTI radar to use with your Aspide missiles, except you once again have to trade your Vulcan for these 2 aggressively average SARH missiles. To top it all off you get a downgraded non-directional RWR, which is historically accurate but only because it was paired with ECM capabilities, which do not exist in-game making it a direct downgrade from the F-104S RWR. Overall the F-104S ASA is simply not competitive, and I suspect the only reason all the Italian F-104s are so high is because dedicated Starfighter players have worked hard to play around its enormous and numerous flaws, but for your average player I believe that these vehicles are borderline unplayable.
