Probably

As much as I do understand ur point with the compression suffocating the des moines and newport news, the sad reality is that it’s 100% healthier for the game for strong vehicles to be overtiered and suffer rather than undertiered and pummel everything else below. Atlanta at 5.7 for example is griefed but it’s a lot healthier for it to not be at 5.3/5.0 and be oppress every single weaker cruiser and destroyer in the game with its insane DPM. Everything above des moines should go up with a new ceiling exclusively, rather than them also going down

Naval really sucks since it could be good if gaijin actually tried literally any form of decomp and proper balancing. Coastal is super compressed and unfun at times lol

Suggestion for new player retainment. The jump from 2.0 - 2.7 into 3.0 - 3.7 uptiers is massive. Many of these 2.0 - 2.7 vehicles struggle in 1.0 uptiers. This is damaging to new player retainment, as constant losses can put someone off the game.

3.0 - 4.0 is fairly balanced, at least for the major nations vehicles and their copy-pasted versions. 4.3 is effectively a dead BR bracket due to a lack of lineups for most nations. So I think if we shift up most of the 3.0 - 4.0 vehicles to 3.3 - 4.3 we’ll help balance out the new player experience.

USA:

  • M4A3 105: 3.0 up to 3.3
  • T18E2: 3.0 up to 3.7
  • M4A1: 3.3 up to 3.7
  • M4: 3.7 up to 4.0
  • M24: 3.7 up to 4.0, and make it Rank III
  • M4A5: 3.7 up to 4.0
  • M4A2: 4.0 up to 4.3
  • Calliope: 4.0 up to 4.3

Germany:

  • StuH 42 G: 3.0 up to 3.3
  • Panzer IV F2: 3.3 up to 3.7
  • Panzer IV G: 3.3 up to 4.0
  • Panzer IV J: 3.7 up to 4.0
  • Sd.Kfz.234/2: 3.7 up to 4.0, and make it Rank III
  • Panzer IV H: 3.7 up to 4.3
  • M4 748(a): 4.0 up to 4.3

USSR:

  • SU-122: 2.7 up to 3.0
  • T-34 (1940): 3.3 up to 3.7
  • T34 (1942): 4.0 up to 4.3
  • T34E STZ: 4.0 up to 4.3

UK:

  • Cromwell V: 3.3 up to 3.7
  • Cromwell V (RP-3): 3.3 up to 3.7
  • Cromwell I: 3.7 up to 4.0
  • Ram II: 3.7 up to 4.0

Japan:

  • M24: 3.7 up to 4.0

China:

  • M24: 3.7 up to 4.0
  • M4A4: 3.7 up to 4.0
  • M4A4 (1st PTG): 3.7 up to 4.0

Italy:

  • M24: 3.7 up to 4.0
  • Sherman V: 3.7 up to 4.0
  • Sherman I Composite: 3.7 up to 4.0
  • Panzer IV G: 3.7 up to 4.0

France:

  • M4A3 (105): 3.0 up to 3.3
  • M4A1: 3.3 up to 3.7
  • M4A4: 3.7 up to 4.0
  • AMX-13-M24: 3.7 up to 4.0

Sweden:

  • M24DK: 3.7 up to 4.0
  • Pz IV: 3.7 up to 4.0
  • Sherman III/IV: 3.7 up to 4.0
  • SAV 20.12.48: 3.7 up to 4.0

Something like this would maintain this brackets internal balance. I’d highly recommend looking at some of Fourche7’s suggestions here. With his M4A3 105 improvements it could potentially even go up to 3.7 in this list. Further improving the new player experience.

I know Gaijin wants 1 vehicle at a time, but you really have to do all of these at once for fairness. Otherwise people will be like “why are you singling out this vehicle against X”.

With the Jaguar A getting 4x GBU-12s…

Hmm… it could… Though the Magic IIs are probably the limiting factor here and not the A2G

Fixed it :P

Bro really looked at the PVKV IV and said 3.3 as if it didn’t start at 3.7 and slowly move down because it’s a worse M10 lol

Sorta sometimes it has its moments but it’s more so a suffer bus with funny moments maybe 1/10 of the time

I took your criticism. That’s fair.

i agree, but the only decompression naval can get that would REALLY affect the game would be a huge br ceiling raise like when it was raied from 7.0 to 8.7

the jump from 4.0 to 5.0, 5.0 to 6.0, and 6.0 to 7.0 is huge and the only “saving grace” of 7.0 to 8.0 (7.7 really) is that there arent too many ships with an 8.0 flat battle rating

they’re likely hesitant to do this because it involves raising naval battle plane BRs again, and when they start introducing cold war era ships (mostly missile cruisers) it’s going to be relaly hard to balance if we already have 10.0 topping out at some of the strongest battleships ever made, likely either having to split the already smaller playerbase into multiple queues (pre cold war vs cold war) or ANOTHER br cap increase so soon after

this would be better for the game in general but i can at least understand their hesitance to do so

I don’t think it would do that badly, but been some time since I played it, and I need a double check. It would be done in by the what should be 4.X Pz. IV Hs (and the other under BRed long gun ones) right now tho.

It’s clear you aren’t reading what I’m writing, as you’re still arguing about flight performance after I already agreed the E-variant is better. My point is about the overall balance in Sim, a mode you clearly don’t play.

I was trying to help a friend grind low tier Sweden and I was busy near C before I ran to help him and we had maybe 7 guys shooting the Matilda and doing nothing.

The Matilda and late model Valentine are some of the least talked about monsters for low tier. I’d say they are arguably some of the most difficult to deal with since it just seems like volumetric hell 90% of the time.

I’d rather a strong vehicle be good in a on tier and downtier than be oppressive in a on tier and downtier.

Seriously tho how the honk is the ACI a higher BR than the Matilda like wth?

I don’t play SIM because it’s a dead mode gaijin has shown no interest in balancing and trying to make unique and worth playing. I’d be interested in SIM if it wasn’t just forgotten

(Nuke thunder with SEAD could make it a bit more unique but I doubt we’ll get that for sim)

Isn’t it the same as R-73 on the SU-25BM? I’m just asking, not arguing against your point.

I do gotta comment but if you move the T-34 to 4.3 on Sweden it just gets ignored, nobody will ever touch it because of how mediocre Swedens 4.0 lineup is the PVKV II is about the only redeeming vehicle with the others being weirdly niche and useless. I’d be fine with the T-34 moving up if you also included the uparmored model for Russia which sits at 4.0, and is just a better T-34

Even in the context of ASB. There really isnt that much in it.

Sure the F-5A(G) can rat a little easier due to having 9Ls, but doesnt even get a radar.

You can’t just leave it when I’ve increased all the other T-34 BR’s. Would make that one exclusively better for no reason. Perhaps that’s more of an issue with the T-34 (1941)'s BR.

Fair, I do recall the Matilda having good armour. I do think they aren’t talked about because they have no speed, the cost of making a tank, not to fight other tanks, but to support infantry.

The full area is starting to have a bad case of compesserion, which can be traced to the long gunned panzer IVs. As when I was playing 2.7, they were the biggest threat, as 90% of 2.7 can’t do anything to them. Well, they can one-shot everything there, and they see them every game now.
