the yak 9k and tempest are way to cheap for how good they are I’ve seen people get nukes with them on many occasions which should be close to impossible so I suggest either raising the cost to 1k sp or disabling nukes if you use cas.
Tempest??
With 47mm solid shot? 🤨
it has dual 37mm cannons, I own it and I love it but it is way to op even at higher br’s
Well, the 9K went to 5.3 but the Tempest is hardly played at all.
I can’t imagine it being much of a problem.
Solid shot doesn’t one shot tanks, usually, and wing guns are also less efficient.
i suppose but that doesn’t change the act that raising the br doesn’t work
For this one, just remove the APHE ammo, problem solved, it’s not like Gaijin doesn’t add/ remove ammo as a balancing tool everywhere else anyway.
I was using the ME 262 with the 50mm at 9.3 and it was still deadly. Similar to bombs, i think as pen increases, sp cost increases and having APHE in the belts should also be more expensive
No.
Not all cannons are ns45
Also br exists.
And yet it still runs around with the ability to one shot 7.0 BR tanks. 29 potential 1 shots.
Tempest is kinda doodoo. The Yak-9K is OP, not cause it has an autocannon, but cause it has overperforming APHE and a UFO flight model.
CAS in general is still way too easy and cheap to spawn. You can get 1 kill and a cap and maybe an assist and spawn in a fully loaded CAS plane that is capable of wiping out a team if you are careful.
Of course, the Yak-9K is especially egregious, but it is apart of a much bigger problem with CAS.
The German BK37 autocannon is glaring at you with tears streaming down its face.
You can shred a lot ground vehicles with a burst of 20mm AP from near-vertical if you’re willing. Most of the propeller driven tank buster planes are not great at anti-tank work because of the airframe they’re mounted on, or the ammunition options aren’t really effective in War Thunder’s typical gameplay. If anything the post-pen fragmentation effects from HVAP penetrators and full-body APs is lackluster.
There’s also the factor of AB/RB having mouse pointed flight adjustment making those weapons considerably more accurate. You don’t really see the direct fire tank buster planes in Sim other than with practiced pilots, and even then it’s difficult to be more than an overhead annoyance in matches.
So no, it’s not the 37mm+ guns that are the problem. It’s one specific nation’s plane with a boosted round that’s the issue.
Fixed it for you.
Guns in WT are overall far more accurate than irl, especially the NS45.
P-39/P-63s shouldn’t be included, as the AP has roughly the same as a .50 cal, as it was more of a anti bomber than anti-tank
