So the same BR as the f16 on france with 9M’s Maws and countermeasure pods? Sounds balanced with 4 rb99s but it will just be a glorified missile slinger it really depends on what gaijin chooses.
Well yes but no. With 74Ms it’d be 12.7 as the flight performance is dramatically better than the ICE. 12.3 would be with basic 74s, not AIM-9Ms that Sweden didn’t actually use. More like the J-8F. It’d still be highly maneuverable with exceptional BVR.
I will admit mistake on my end since I haven’t flown the Viggen in a hot minute…

Cause it has amraams, if we look back historically, German phantoms would constantly violate Swedish airspace thinking Sweden was in NATO, and get their as kicked in dogfighting, and escorted back to NATO airspace, besides all other phantoms besides the Japanese and ICE are the same battlerating as the JA37D
They have 2 f16’s, their f16a has maws, countermeasure pods and aim 9m at 12.3 sorry but it should be 12.7 not 12.3 the 11.3 jets shouldnt have to fight a glorified better f16C

Irl it’s slightly faster without load, in a dogfight they never stood a chance, even with more missiles, and giving the Viggen amraams would balance it, less missiles but better dogfighter, it becomes an even Plainfield, and possibility to add more platforms from Gen 3 that had gen 4 armaments
you think that yak-141 should be higher than f-15a just because of r-73?
