Cyrillic alphabet of MS, some Chinese document use them for Russian weapons instead of turn them into Latin alphabet

This is a UB

So a down grade to the normal Mig23 M?

Yeah as S mean Saphir-21 radar just from MiG-21
MS also lack of IRST, it’s a version only for export to these “non-reliable” countries i remember

Its pretty much the worst “later” MiG-23 model from what I remember.

From the Old-Forum MiG-23 thread:

Summary

Because the MiG-23MF was deemed too advanced for developing nations such as Syria, Iraq, Libya, Cuba and India, it was further dumbed down. It shared the same airframe as the MiG-23M and MiG-23MF, however its avionics and weapons were changed to that of the MiG-21S and MiG-21SM. It had the Almaz-23 radar and ASP-PFD-21 gun-sight/HUD. The undernose IRST was deleted. Its air to air missiles were only the R-3S and R-3R, though the R-13M was added later. Produced between 1973 and 1978. You can easily distinguish it from the MiG-23M/MF by the shorter nose radome.

Pros:

High top speed
Good climb rate and acceleration
Better optimized for supersonic speeds compared to the MiG-21
Variable wings like all MiG-23s, giving the aircraft more control over the its visuals, desired speed, and wing G forces
Decent maneuverability with the leading edge flaps, as with the MiG-23M/MF
Well-armed for the opponents its meant to face (in the game), four missiles and one GSh-23L
Had RWR; SPO-10M Sirena-3
Leading-edge slats, giving it good instantaneous maneuverability

Cons:

No R-13M, R-13M1, R-23R/T or R-60 (though the R-13M was retrofitted later)
Underwhelming radar and avionics
IRST was removed
The worst MiG-23 model, very basic and straightforward, given its terrible and lackluster missile loadout and equipment, they were easy targets IRL
1,400 km/h IAS rip speed
Lack of flares
No BVR missiles
Top missile loadout was 4 x R-3S (later 4 x R-13M), because BVR was not available, it meant that this variant could only load four missiles as opposed to six on most MiG-23s

that loadout sucks but at least it would perform better than the german MiG 23BN

Really wish Gaijin started (if they didnt) to work on EW and ECM. Especially considering the saturation of ARH at top tier

Hopefully we’ll see EW with the newer 4.5 gen jets

With the Zhuhai Airshow ongoing as of right now it’d be nice to collect information on vehicles present via photos (any online will do).

I’m pretty impressed and surprised by things presented in it and such as the J-35A, the successor you could say of the FC-31, literally what the F-35A should’ve been instead of being morbidly obese.

image

Also with the J-15T entering service this October 2024 it’d also be nice to see more information on it if someone’s willing to do the research, I’m pretty lazy lol.

Probably the best overall Flanker the Chinese could receive due to canards design currently producing a ridiculous amount of lift in-game on the SU-34 and probably likewise for the J-15T in the future.

The potential for the combined Chinese tech tree in the future is looking insane by the looks of it, definitely something people should invest in before you get left out lol.

there are 2 sure planes that can fire this missile the J10A and JF-17 (and potentially the JH-7 otherwise it will be the C-802KD for him)

It’s been about 2 months and we are still waiting for Chinese national air-to-ground munitions

as a reminder the C-701 :

The C-701 is a Chinese anti-ship missile broadly comparable to the American Maverick missile. However, it only weighs half its weight. Also called the YJ-7. The C-701 was developed by CPMIEC (China Precision Machinery Import Export Co.). The first version to see the light of day was the C-701T TV-guided version, followed by the ground-launched version. The third C-701KD version to appear was the one with the infrared imaging seeker, followed finally by the one with radar, the C-701R.

our friends at DCS already have it, why on Warthunder do we not have it yet?!

I would have liked the C-704KD, C-705KD and C-802KD to be implemented but they will be too effective compared to the Maverick and other equivalent
the C-701 was the best proposition for China but Gaijing preferred to add missiles and bombs to the USA and USSR…

I’ll update it once we get some brochures or new pics from Zhuhai.

What engine, I don’t think it is AL31FN still although rumour goes the AL31FN has better burst than WS10.

Nope it has WS-10s.

Yeah, I thought the engine looks like WS10s, WS10B?
Also, any news on J10CEs? I saw that they have different serial numbers, could it mean the rumour that Guizhou has started aircraft production for it?

Tbh i only saw names such as WS-10H (Hai, sea in Chinese) pop up so far so unless we get new info that’s the name atm.

And Guizhou already started production a while ago.

Yeah, just that it might be the first time they are supplying it to pakistan.

As anticipated, what I thought would be PL16 has appeared as PL15E
