Pl8 and python constantly going for missiles instead of the bigger heat signatures

Pl8/ python 3 very often goes for missiles rockets and even sometimes for bombs instead of the aircraft i dont know if its a bug or not but i must report it, sadly only 2 tags usable. much love <3

Bro literally the same happened around 10 times with my R-27ET yesterday , it even has so called “IRCCM” , they need to nerf rocket and missile heat signature

Its not just a P3/PL8 thing, all missiles ingame are overly sensitive to other missiles.

Its even worse for radar missiles

my sparrows a lots of times missing because enemy missile redirects my missile and it just missing , not playing much f16 tho i love j8 much better than anything its a fun aircraft

BTW there is a issue with proxy fuse the missiles t not proxy fusing

To be fair missiles apparently work well enough as IR decoys in real life that the RAF mention it in multiple manuals:

I wouldnt say it works well enough with words like “as an end-game tactic” or “Assuming survival”. Its pretty clearly “you have nothing to lose and everything to gain by firing a missile when another missile has already been fired at you”

i hate this IRL too then :D

But the fact that they think firing a missile may be able to decoy a Stinger (which has IRCCM) at all is noteworthy.

i mean… its a rocket engine, its not super surprising that it MAY decoy an IR missile

its burning fast not hot (most of the missiles) made very cold so maw harder detect them in the ultavioler/IR range so maw wont get triggered

there is not that much chance of decoy a missile with missile because target aircraft even in front aspect gives the missile a much bigger heat signature even on a 4x4 pixel heat seeker which are used on aim9bs if im not mistaken

it does also say “may decoy” and in the second picture “it may just intercept the opponent’s missile”.
in game however its a guaranteed decoy
