Hello guys,
I’d like to ask for help from people that are more skilled in these things that I am. So, where to begin… Earlier today when I was playing (like 5 hours ago) my game was working fine, as usual, nothing unusal. After that I was watching some YT videos and doing common things like playing other games etc. After that I logged back into WT and immediately I have noticed that the hangar is blurry and the FPS in my hangar were 35-40 (my limit in settings was 50 to not stress my pc and I always had 50 fps). In battle my fps were like 45-50 (limit was set to 85 again the same reason and I always had 85 no matter what) and it was extremly blurry/laggy that it wasn’t even playable anymore for me. I haven’t changed anything in my graphics settings, I have reinstalled my graphics driver (nvidia rtx 2080 super) but nothing has changed. Other games work fine, yet I don’t know what happened to WT.
Thanks for any help, appreciate it.
The sudden blur and the frame-rate drop appearing together usually point to a renderer, upscaler or resolution-state change rather than failing hardware—especially if other games remain normal.
Please check the following before deleting any files:
- Native monitor resolution and fullscreen mode
- Render resolution at 100%
- Dynamic resolution disabled
- DLSS/FSR/TSR set intentionally rather than changed automatically
- SSAA disabled unless you deliberately use it
- The expected FPS cap
- War Thunder assigned to the RTX 2080 Super in Windows Graphics settings
Then test the same hangar and one battle using DX11 after a full client restart. Resetting only War Thunder’s NVIDIA application profile is also safer than another complete driver reinstall.
If the issue remains, please post screenshots of the complete graphics menu, a DxDiag and the .clog from the affected session. GPU utilisation, clock, temperature and power readings would also help distinguish a renderer problem from throttling. Change one setting at a time so the actual cause is not hidden.
Thanks for your advice!
I fixed it myself yesterday. The thing causing it was DX after the it’s fixed update. Swapped it from DX12 to DX11, restarted the game and changed it back to DX12, everything is back to normal. If anybody has the same issue after updates, check this steps Timo posted.
