Description: The Piaggio P119 was an all-metal Italian heavy fighter from the Second World War. In 1936, Giovanni Casiraghi became the new chief engineer of the Piaggio. He decided two years later to design a new multirole fighter with a completely new structure and design that featured a radial engine located inside the fusulage to achieve better performance. Casiraghi saw that without the engine in the frontal position, there was room for more weapons on the nose to achieve a better concentrated fire. He decided to install a 4x 12.7 mm Breda Safat machinegun and a 1x 20 mm Breda 20 cannon in the propeller hub. The Regia Aereonautica showed interest in the aircraft in 1939 and ordered a prototype one year later. The prototype was completed in 1942, and it flew for the first time on December 19 of the same year. The aircraft was planned to take part in the 5-generation Italian fighter competition since it showed very good performance with good results and good weapons, but it was not ready, and in 1943, when the armistice blockade everything, the aircraft development was stopped and the prototype was lost. This aircraft, at its time, was practically unknown since it was not even public and was not even sent to the main Italian test base, Guidonia. Today, it is still pretty obscure since some data is missing and the fate of the only unit, the MM496, is completely unknown.

Why it should be in the game: It could bring to the Italian tt a completly new and capable aircraft that will work very good as a line aircraft.

Apparently this is the only mid-fuselage engine monoplane built on the axis side. It is a very clean design, I especially love the look of the air intake. Also regarding the cannon, is it an aircraft version of the breda 20 mod 35?
