The Pháo Tự Hành 105 mm Việt Nam Model 15 or PTH105-VN15 is a self propelled howitzer developed by the Z751 United Factory of Vietnam between 2013-2015, with the first variant being the PTH105-VN15 M1, which mounts an American M101 Howitzer onto a Ural-375D truck. However over time the design would gradually improve, with the latest known variant being the PTH105-VN15 M3.

PTH105-VN15 M1
The PTH105-VN15 M3 still retains the same armament as the previous M1 variant, However it is instead mounted onto a Ural-4320 transport truck, or at least some variant of it, which has more engine power and a higher payload than the Ural-375D, meaning they could add more to the design, and they did. One of the flaws of the M1 variant was the only real armor it possessed being a shield around the gun, which steal leaves the entire crew exposed from every angle other than the rear. Due to the M101 Howitzer having a limited horizontal travers of just 46 degrees, the PTH105-VN15 M3 able to add additional armor protecting the gun crews flanks without interfering with the guns field of view, this combined with the M101’s gun shield gives the gun crew good all round protection, though still leaving them exposed to attacks from above.

On top of this, they added an armored compartment in between the cabin and gun, which is likely used to house electronic equipment which can help the targeting, and accuracy of the gun, or could be used to store ammo, its hard to say, however there is a hatch on the roof of this compartment which leads to an NSV 12.7mm machine gun, which in game would help this vehicle fend off aircraft and lightly armored vehicles. The machine gun also has a gun shield to protect the operators front, as well as the hatch protecting his back. unfortunately the cabin of the truck doesn’t look to have received any armor. Regardless, the armor plating is unlikely able to stop anything larger than 7.62, meaning it would still be very vulnerable to 50 cal fire.
Why it should be added to the game:
If a Vietnamese Sub-Tech tree were to be added, Vietnam would lack vary many unique armored vehicles, and this would be an exception to that, with it being a indigenously designed SPH combining US howitzer with a Soviet chassis. And it could also be a nice vehicle to folder with the PTH105-VN15 M1 if that vehicle were also added.
