Performance issues with VR-Headset

Hey guys. Has anyone else been having performance issues when using VR since the last update?

I’ve been getting a lot of stuttering to the point that the game freezes for half a second every 5-10 seconds which makes it almost impossible to play.

Specs:

AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D @4.2GHz
32GB RAM
RTX 4070 Ti 12GB VRAM
Game is installed on SSD
Meta Quest 3 (via Link Cable)

Graphic Driver is up-to-date.

I’ve not noticed any change recently (also MQ3 user).

Yes, there are occasional stutters, and they are at least mildly annoying. In my case however those were much stronger when a while ago I got a new router. I actually switched back to the old one because here I have it much less (one barely noticeable stutter every few minutes instead of one every few seconds as I had with the new router)…

Hmm… maybe it’s the SSD I have it on. Gonna try putting it on my NVME and see how that goes.

Nope. That did not help.

I’ve made a video to illustrate:

While it was uploading I also tried reinstalling the Game-Ready Drivers via GeForce Experience and that also didn’t work.

I’ll try installing the Studio-Drivers and see if that helps.

Hm, no, that behaviour I never experienced. Strange. Seems very regular.

Landing a Tiger on an aircraft carrier?!? = )

yeah, never heard of the Sea Tiger? :D

Switched to studio drivers and on first glance that seems to have fixed it for me. Weird…
No stutters at all.

Yeah, there’s often some esoteric stuff going on.

My setup is running well atm, so I dare not touch anything.

I feel that xD

recently when i get into close dogfights the after burner of my target will stutter my computer so bad, but if i keep the target at the edge of my vision or out of sight, or when the after burner is not burning it runs smoother. ive got a 13700k cpu and a 3070ti and more then enough ram, m.2, oculus q2 with fiberoptic cable 3.0 port. when i first played on my new pc almost 2 years ago i could run warthunder sim graphics at 120hz 1.4x res while staying mostly smooth, nowdays i have to run med graphics at 72hz at 1.3x, still stuttering. when i set up my pc i updated to liquid metal thermal paste and aftermarket thermal pads for my gpu, 360 aio in push pull with liquid metal thermal paste for my cpu and the temps are good. i even use digital driver uninstaller or ddu and clean driver installer downloading my graphics driver without all the extra bells and whistles that effect performance. i use oculus debug tool and openxr tool kit. i always give the ovr server high priority. its been a proccess

why would you use super sampling? does the game look any better in VR?

dlss and frs makes things look a bit smoother if its pixelated, and it should help with performans stuff like taa hurts performance

interesting. I’ve refrained of using DLSS and such because nothing looked right. been using FXAA HQ instead

i agree it looks off, i upgraded my quest 2 to a quest 3 and alot of the stutter whent away i can play 120 hz at 1.2x med graphics. still getting massive freezing when im close to somone when they afterburn.

I and my friends also have the same problem with frame rate dropping to almost 10-15 in dogfights when the afterburner is visible playing in VR ( Q3 ) . I don’t know if anyone has reported this bug on https://community.gaijin.net/

@Schindibee Have you also encountered this behavior?

No, no such issues.

What I experience lately is that especially in Sinai I see like a shadow on the ground depending on inclination of my head, especially in low sun situations: Look slightly down, no shadow on the sand, look slightly up, shadow on the sand…
