Hello fellow players! I am putting together a new PC for Warthunder and specifically, Sim. I was hoping the community could throw some advice my way in terms of GPU’s given the options available in my area. I understand everyone’s requirements for VR are different, hence the reason for my post! So without further ado, here we go!
Im planning to use a quest 2, perhaps a 3 if i can find one at a decent price. I would like to run the game at max resolution for the specific headset with atleast med/high graphics. I would like to comfortably maintain the headset refresh rate in terms of FPS. Although, 60 at minimum is OK. I dont mind turning down tree’s and water or mirror reflections. However, I would like the graphics to look good.
Currently locally I can get:
RTX1080ti --$200 CAD(used)
EVGA3090 + EVGA1300W PS–$1000 CAD (Used)
5070TI–$1000CAD(new)
4070TiS–$1000CAD (used)
These would obviously be paired with an appropriate motherboard/CPU/RAM/PS but seeing as the GPU is the most costly component, I thought it would be good to ask first. The 3090 has the most VRAM but are the newer cards with less VRAM running at higher speeds able to keep up for VR? Im not opposed to the 1080TI either as its very affordable, I have seen some videos on youtube where it’s running quite smooth, however I am worried it may suffer in jets or just be too old to consider. Budget is not really a problem, however I would like to stay somewhat sensible.
Thanks to anyone chiming in.
