So you want to change it mid-match?
That you can only do in weapons select.
I never used that ngl. I set the bombs needed per base before i spawn. For finishing off bases, i usually only need an extra bomb or two so i never needed to use it.
May i ask why you want to use the ripple instead of the bomb series?
So let me explain misunderstanding between us
I meant secondary weapon ripple setting via keybinds, and dropping bombs with “fire secondary weapon”. It drops 2/4/8/16/32 bomb. you do it during the game.
Your setting is a bit different and custom for different planes. I dare say useless for me when I play A7E since it has only one setting: 4 or Disabled. no option for 2, if i take 4 bombs for example. Sorry for my arrogance, I thought I was using drop bomb series feature since it has the same keybind for me as fire secondary weapons keybind.
yeah, but also Drop Bomb Series is sometimes useful for me. If you have let’s say 8 bomb type A and 8 bomb type B, I don’t know in which order will it drop 12 bomb, that you can select via Bomb series dropdown.
With the ripple it is a bit easy to drop the exact number of bombs “most” of the times. If it takes 10 bomb, i set it to 8, then drop last 2 bombs manually one by one. Otherwise, bomb series seem to be fixed to another set of predetermined numbers 4/6/12/24 in this case.
Not to mention, weapon selection becomes mandatory if you want to shoot radar missiles first since IR missile seem to be default one if you have them together.
all good. honestly, i forgot the ripple thing was even in the game.
I believe it drops the larger bombs first but i would test it with your plane first.
i agree. it should go by 2s.
fair. although in most cases, you should be firing radar missiles at distances where you IR are not able to get a lock.
I also didn’t know Bomb Series was selectable in pregame menu :)
Drop Bomb Series option spreads the bombs equally i think. I tried A7E with 12 250lb and 12 500 lbs. I was left with 6 each.
Yeah, the thing with missiles having the same key is, it is really hard when you have multiple munition types and you are in danger. You need to click exactly 3 times to get to radar missile, if you want to change it IR, you either cancel weapon selection or click 2 more. It is a bit outdated system.
Btw, ripple works for rockets but there is no rocket series option pregame like bombs. It also works weirdly, you still need to select rockets if you want to shoot exactly 8 and use Fire Secondary Weapon button for 8. Rocket salvo button sends them one by one, but fast without upper limit.
