Can’t remember the Apache and can’t remember when i was last killed by an IRIS-T in it.
I can remember the Z10 beeing untouchable though. Shocker with the current Chinese pampering.

And i get killed in the MI28 pretty often in it, it’s just pure RNG.
I never said it was immune 100% the Z10 is iirc the only really 100% immune type helicopter but the MI28 is still protected by its LDIRCM more often then not making IR only systems worthless

Basically everything that has a working radar. And everything that can hide its launchers directly behind buildings. Every Saclos spaa that can actually shoot down helis. What do you need 70 km range for (though the BUKs actual range in wt is more like 50 km…at sea level targeting ww2 bombers) if the overwhelming amount of cas runs is under 10 km distance or even sub 6 km. In a time window where your radar wont pick up the threat let alone turn the launchers (unless you control the launchers directly). And thats not even considering ldircm helis which are basically immune if they just stay low, or hover, or notch and chaff incoming missiles.
Its literally one of the worst top tier SPAAs judging from its all time stats, only rivalled by the Type 03, which in missile specs is the closest to the BUK but also barely has targets at the ranges it is designed for. While having glaring downsides compared to the buk but also advantages (Better radar, vertical launch). Compare that to the SAMP-T which has dual stage missiles that accelerate insanely quick, with launchers that can immediately fire while sitting behind a building completely safe and an awesome radar where you can engage most targets directly from 3rd person view of the radar vehicle (and just switch to the radar menu after and easily engage all the ordinance fired) the BUK is just an absolute sadmobile. And its stats show that too
As to whats more scary: SAMP-T, IRIS-T, probably NASAM-3 (but cant say for sure since i dont have that yet), Sky Sabre, HQ11, even the cursed spyder has better stats and facing ldircm helis: Literally every saclos spaa is way scarier than the buk (which can only hope to interecept missiles until it runs out of missiles itself)

I honestly hate using the Buk-M3, I love the missile because of the explosive filler, good seeker, and really good speed, but I’d always rather use the NASAMS 3 because the Buk’s radar absolutely sucks at pinging on radar and tracking targets if the target is flying low.
Yeah i can imagine. I mean yeah Buk has the best or one of the best missiles (insanely fast, long range, biggest proxy radius and tnt yield with some lofting and smallest notch window together with the type 03 missile) but what does that help if basically everything else of the system is lacking? Best missile in the world is useless if its linked to an absolutely dogwater radar vehicle that only finds targets when its already too late.
