History

Following the agreement to equip 56 Patria AMV vehicles with Norwegian Kongsberg Protector M151 12.7 mm RWCS, the Croatian Army inquired in 2009 about 30 mm turrets, with a plan to acquire 24 such systems in 2010. Due to the reduction of funds for armored combat vehicles, the number of systems was reduced to eight. In 2011 negotiations were held with Kongsberg on the production of a Protector Medium Caliber Turret (MCT-30) with a 30 mm gun in Croatian Đuro Đaković (ĐĐ) factory in Slavonski Brod. In October 2012, the companies signed an agreement by which ĐĐ became a partner of Kongsberg in the production and sale of remotely controlled weapons stations of medium caliber. In ĐĐ the first MCT-30 turret was completed and integrated into the Patria AMV in a very short period of time and on November 20, 2012, saw a shooting demonstration. At the beginning of 2013, the intention to purchase eight weapons stations with a 30 mm cannon and an anti-tank missile system was again announced. However, due to a lack of funding, the procedure for their procurement started only in July 2015. This is when a public tender for their procurement and installation was announced. Three companies applied: ĐĐ with Kongsberg’s Protector MCT-30 and two Israeli companies: Rafael and Elbit with their turrets. In the end, Elbit’s UT30MK2 turret was chosen.

Could be a good premium for Yugoslavian tree, with the production variant (Elbit turret and Spikes) being a tech tree vehicle

I’d say sweden for now, til a better fit is introduced

I say there is enough tanks and vehicles they should just make a Slavic tech tree.
