This patch was adopted by the Italian soldiers of the Task Force 45 (composed by elemets of various units) that were sent to afghanistan in 2009. They were called “Ghost” because theyr existance was completly unknown to the rest of Italy since they were send to fight like an effective soldier and not a peackeeper like the most of the other Italian ground forces. The various operations that they performed in the afghanistan war are still secret.
