V2 and V3 do have the forward mounted cannons clipping into where the air intakes would be, since those were not intended to be on the R2Y2 in the first place. So these are not physically possible, only the V1 would be.
The V2/3 engine layout was also intended as workaround for the larger and weaker Ne-30 engines, so with the Ne-330 engines ready (which are also on all in-game R2Y2s) these are obsolete.
The only historically feasible R2Y2 design would be similar to the games V1, but without cannons and instead with the added loadout of a torpedo.
There is genuinely not enough space to fit their ammo at all. Though this is for the V3, I forgot that the V2 puts the intakes in the wing roots, so in theory that nose is empty.
Which doesn’t make it any less made up, which is why it’s a fake vehicle. Not unfinished or even paper, just fake. An accurate version of it might be an unfinished prototype that could be added as a new vehicle, but it’s too far removed from the in-game version to just be a remodel, the same way the real Panther II would be too different from the in-game version.
Just looking at it on X-ray view shows a large open space under the cockpit where seemingly nothing sits. I’m not saying the gun storage wouldn’t likely cause problems, but there’s hardly what one would say is “no room at all.”
Yeah, but its already in the game, and is therefore grandfathered-in. Hence why to minimize uproar I’d rather do minimal to modest remodeling necessary to make it physically believable, fake or not. It’s already here, may as well make it make sense.
