Background

PARS Wheeled Armoured Combat Vehicle is a versatile, highly modular, and amphibious platform developed by FNSS to meet the evolving needs of modern armed forces. Development of the PARS Wheeled Armoured Combat Vehicle family began in the early 2000s in collaboration with General Purpose Vehicles (GPV). Early variants, based on the GPV Commander 6x6 and Colonel 8x8 platforms, were introduced as PARS I 6x6 and PARS I 8x8, which were first unveiled at IDEF 2005 in both configurations.

In 2007 during İDEF 2007, FNSS introduced the refined PARS II, which was also presented in 6x6 and 8x8 configurations. The PARS II 8x8 gained export success in Malaysia, where FNSS partnered with DefTech to develop an 8x8 wheeled armored combat vehicle. FNSS and DefTech signed a preliminary agreement which included technology transfer and local production rights; collaboration resulted with AV8 Gempita. First prototype of AV8 was revealed in 2013 during Malaysia’s 80th Army Day celebration.

At İDEF 2017, FNSS unveiled the next-generation PARS III, which featured a significant redesign. Built to adapt to future needs, the PARS III was developed with a focus on mobility, protection, and long-term growth potential. New PARS III achieved export success in Oman, which ordered 172 vehicles in 13 configurations, including both 6x6 and 8x8 models.

In 2019, FNSS began developing the PARS IV 8x8 in response to the Turkish Armed Forces’ need for new wheeled vehicles under the New Generation Armored Vehicles Project. After two years of design and development, the PARS IV 8x8 was unveiled for the first time at IDEF 2021. PARS IV 8x8 is engineered to adapt to both conventional warfare and the asymmetric threats while ensuring high levels of protection, firepower and mobility in maximum operational effectiveness. PARS IV 8x8 is engineered to excel in both conventional warfare and asymmetric threats, offering exceptional protection, firepower, and mobility in maximum operational effectiveness. Similar to its predecessors, PARS IV is highly modular and can be configured for a wide variety of missions across diverse environments. Although the PARS IV was initially designed to participate in the tender, its successor, the PARS ALPHA, ultimately took part in the competition.

FNSS unveiled the PARS ALPHA 8x8 at the World Defense Show (WDS) in Saudi Arabia in February 2024 as latest iteration of PARS Wheeled Armoured Combat Vehicle family. PARS ALPHA 8x8 boasts enhanced mobility, firepower, and increased maximum weight, making it a highly capable next-generation armored fighting vehicle. In 2025, it was announced that the PARS ALPHA 8x8 had won the New Generation Armored Vehicles tender. As part of the first phase of the project, FNSS will deliver a range of vehicles to the Turkish Land Forces Command, including the PARS ALPHA 8x8 in configurations such as the Anti-Tank Vehicle and Mobile Repair Vehicle. Additionally, four different mission-equipped vehicles in the 6x6 configuration will also be supplied, ensuring a diverse and capable fleet tailored to meet various operational needs.

Implementation to War Thunder

The PARS Wheeled Armoured Combat Vehicle family should be reserved for the future Turkish Ground Forces TechTtree. The PARS III 6x6, in this configuration, would perform similarly to other Auto-Cannon armed wheeled vehicles. In terms of Battle Rating, it would likely fit within the range of 8.0 - 8.7. As for placement, it would make a strong contender for the Light Vehicles Branch. PARS III 6x6 could be a strong contender for the research tree, however, if the PARS İZCİ 6x6 is added instead, the PARS III 6x6 would be a perfect fit as a premium or event vehicle. Since PARS İZCİ 6x6 with SARP 100/25 is accepted into service, PARS III 6x6 would make better choice as premium or event vehicle.

+1 I’m wondering how these pars will be distributed in the theoretical tree

In current iteration, Research Section has 3 PARS:

  • PARS İZCİ 6x6 (SARP 100/25), Rank V, Battle Rating 8.7
  • PARS ALPHA 8x8 (TEBER UKK), Rank VI, Battle Rating 9.3
  • PARS ALPAH 8x8 (TEBER-II), RANK VIII, Battle Rating 10.7 - 11.7

While Premium Section has only one:

  • PARS III 6x6 (TEBER-II), Rank VII, Battle Rating 10.3 - 11.3

We could not use all of the PARS 6x6/8x8 configuration due to being too similar to each other and to leave some room to other platforms such as ALTUĞ 8x8, which is also accepted into service alongside PARS ALPHA, and ARMA 6x6/8x8

I do see the concern. Have you thought about folders? They can fit up to 4 vehicles currently so maybe that might help give more variations without losing as much space. Another option could be to relegate 1 vehicle as a squadron but I’m not sure.

Sure we can folder some of them but much of them serve no purpose really. As I mentioned I would like to leave some room for other platforms too.

Also there’s a lot of PARS variants to throw in. Sure I’ll suggest them at some point, but not all necessity have to make it in the tree.

There is PARS II, III, IV, İZCİ, ALPHA in 6x6 and 8x8 configuration; and if I recall correctly total number of configuration is close to 30. Same is applicable to ARMA and vehicles based off of it.
