Paper vehicles and if they should be added or how they can potentially do so

I’m going to start off by saying that I made this a seperate post from xxIRONHEAD787xx-live’s post because I wanted to see if people want them in the game, how they should be implemented and what standard the project should be in and get some statistics on what people think.

Would you like to see paper vehicles in the game?

What stage should the project be in?

Proposal:
A vehicle that only got proposed with no blueprints made.
ex: Tiger II 10.5cm

Planned:
A vehicle that only existed on blueprints.
ex: Kronstadt

Mockup:
A vehicle that only had a mockup of it constructed.
ex: Flakpanzer 341 “Coelian”, Ho-Ri Prototype

Semi-Realized:
A vehicle that was mostly completed and did not have all of its planned components installed.
ex: Panther F

Ways of implementation

Alt 1

Add a separate gamemode where you can play paper vehicles, in the normal games modes the paper vehicles will be locked.
So those who don’t want to play against paper vehicles can do so.

Alt 2

Make it so you can only research paper vehicles after you unlocked the next two ranks.
ex: to get a rank 4 paper tank you have to have unlocked rank 6.
So that paper vehicles are more used for fun instead of being used to grind to the same degree.

Alt 3

Make it so you can only research paper vehicles after you have researched all the same tanks in the same and next rank.
ex: to get a rank 4 paper tank you have to have researched all rank 4 & 5 tanks.
So that paper vehicles are for those who really want to play them and cant really be used to grind rp with.

Alt 4

Make it like an event that never ends and after doing a couple hard quests you can buy it for SL.
ex: For the Strv KRV, you could need to get 50 kills with the AMX-50 Surbaissé, 50 kills with a Strv 103 and 50 kills with HEAT / HEATFS with a tank thats in rank 5 or above

If you have any other idea how paper vehicles could be implemented feel free to tell me

If you were to ask me, I would say it would be fun to play some weird and outlandish vehicles from the past in Warthunder, gaming is supposed to be fun after all.
WoT already do have paper tanks but warthunders damage system is just superior.

You mean the battlecruiser that was laid down?

The alternative gamemode with paper tanks already exists, it’s called world of tanks

ik, thats why im playing that aswell, but as you know warthuder is just superior

yes, was only ~10-15% done, and the complete design of it was never really decided

But part of war thunder’s superiority is that it is more grounded in reality than WoT. If you just add paper vehicles over and over you either wash away that identity or you waste dev resources on things that don’t make war thunder the game it is

Well then if falls under the partially built category, as does multiple ships and refits. The “Semi realised” is already in game so I personally wouldn’t call them “paper vehicles”.

As for stage, I’m not really sure which I’d want.

I mean it would be very cool to see the P1000 Ratte and P1500 ratte. it was so close that it almost started construction.

Kronshtadt was in production, it was never blueprint only.
The aerial photographs have been spread around for years at this point.

I mean I think there are different ‘proposals’. If it’s just 105mm Tiger II, basically ‘what happens if we chuck a bigger gun in it’ then I think that’s fine but if it was a completely new vehicle then no for me. Although that said there are a few of them I would like to see, as well as stuff that lacked key components, like F15 TVC.
