Pantsir optimal radar settings and other questions

Hello, whats the best radar setting for the pantsir? Someting that has good vertical scan but also scans the area fast, also any general tips to using it?

Use IRST, so RWRs won’t detect when they are being tracked by you (your radar will still ping them, but won’t give the lock alert).

Turn IRST back off if a plane is strafing and you need to use your guns, as IRST turns off the lead calculator.

Go to the largest or second largest radar scale setting depending on your preference.

Don’t aim at air targets flying high and fast, they can easily outmaneuver your missile. A10s and other subsonics (including drones) are easy food and can be launched at immediately upon detection.

For supersonic fighters, such as F-16, wait for them to make attack runs to fire. If a pilot is skilled, he can easily avoid you by flying low, or by flying high above you at supersonic speed.

The tracking radar is K band. Extremely few aircraft ingame can detect K band AFAIK helis are the ones that most commonly have K band detection. AH-1Z is an example of this with an RWR that goes from band E-M

I typically set my radar to maximum range with a 50 km range and 360x82-degree coverage. I rarely rely on IRST since the K-band tracking radar is detectable by very few aircraft. To take advantage of the datalink feature, I use the “Select Radar/IRST Target to Lock On” button. This is especially effective for countering multiple air-to-ground munitions simultaneously.

For example, if you spot an F-16 launching Mavericks, lock onto the first Maverick, fire, then press the button to switch to the next Maverick and fire again. You can repeat this up to four times since the Pantsir’s datalink supports up to four simultaneous targets. This allows your missiles to guide themselves to the radar-locked Mavericks, freeing you to focus on engaging the attacking jet rather than the incoming missiles
