Hi everyone, I haven’t played War Thunder for a while, and today I jumped into a ground battle with the Pantsir (RF) and I’m honestly confused about what’s going on with it. I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong or if it’s just changed.
Whenever I lock onto an aircraft and it drops flares or chaff, my aiming cursor goes all over the place and won’t stay locked on the target.
As far as I know, Pantsir used to be able to auto-guide up to 3 missiles at once, but that doesn’t seem to be working for me at all now.
Right now it just feels completely ineffective and the radar seems useless.
I also tried the Su-30SM, and its IRS doesn’t warn me when I’m being locked by an IRIS-T, so I’m getting hit by missiles with no warning.
Pantsir has been bugged forever or rather all ground aesa tws radars are currently bugged and will swap lock from the plane/heli to any missile or rocket, and even chaff sometimes ruining a launch for saclos guided sams. The same bug exists for IRIST but because the missiles are fnf it doesnt really matter as much as on pantsir.
IRIST doesn’t give a launch warning because its an IR seeker (i think) youll have to play very cautiously if you see a IRS rwr ping. If you can see them on your rwr assume a missile is headed your way, its going to be incredibly hard to dodge within around 18km, so try to stay outside of that if one is up. Youll have to launch kh38 in gnss mode at 20km+ at spawns and use the follow camera to find where they are at, getting inside tracking range for the ir seeker is gonna be suicide unless the map has plenty of terrain masking options like vietnam.
Pantsir has always been this way, you can see my posts from months ago asking about the radar lock being pulled. I just think no one dared to complain about it because pantsir was the best spaa in game at the time.
I wouldnt neccesarily say the tunguska is better, maybe within 6-7km it is, but the pantsir has about twice the range as long as the target isn’t firing missiles.
Can you please explain to me how to properly use the KH-38s? I’m a bit lost. I understand how to set a point on the map, but how do I actually launch the KH-38? And how do I switch to its camera view afterward?
