Yeah… Still waiting on 540lbs bombs on most of the Gr7 pylons, because we all know unguided 540s are totally OP
personaly i am waiting for the ability to carry cannons and unguided rocket pods on the outer pylons of the Tiger UHT
Yeah, now that seems silly its missing those
The F-4S has better thrust at speed than the FGR.2? That can’t be right surely. I thought the spey phantoms were meant to be quicker on the deck and the US phantoms quicker at altitude, no? @Gunjob
Read it again. At every speed the FGR.2 has better thrust.
Yeah my bad, I didn’t see the speeds were different.
Had me worried there haha.
Do you know if there has been any word on the Tornado wingflap operation at different wing sweep angles issue? I can’t remember exactly, but wasn’t there an engine limitation they were working on? I’m thinking maybe they’ve done something if the Aardvark has similar flap operation.
On another note, would be really cool if they made jets like Aardvark and Tornado the nuke carriers at top tier now that there are pretty strong air superiority fighters around.
Its the leading edge slat needs uncoupling from the flaps, then that all needs mapping to various wing sweeps which requires some new code. Unfortunately the Devs are super busy right but I do bring it up as much as I can.
Agreed we could use some more varied nuke aircraft, now we have many more options.
On the slat topic; do you know if visual slat operation is tied to the FM on all planes? Even on props like bf 109’s, lagg-3s and la-5s?
I must admit I don’t entirely understand why that wasn’t an idea in the first place. I get it with the Tu-4/B-29 as there arent that many nuclear bombers around at that point. But at IL-28 BR? Canberra, B-57, Vautour to name a few
And I won’t start on the Modern stuff.
I get it, but I cant help feel that once again, we’ve been put at the bottom of the pile. Whilst other nations get entire new aircraft, potentially with new features and mechanics, on a regular basis and an aircraft we got 10 months ago sits unfinished because “reasons”
Just for once I’d love it if they gave minor nations the same priority they have to the major nations.
I believe it is yes.
Around about when was the F.3 AOP programme completed/fitted,
or alternatively, when did the UK acquire and start fitting C-5 AMRAAMs?
FSP introduced the C5. Which was 2006~ if I remember correctly.
If you’re right that really is cutting it fine - Tremelling’s book states the OSD was 2006 from what I can find.
BBC NEWS | England | Shropshire | Last Sea Harriers’ flight at base
Yes and no. The FGR appears to have a thrust drop which the F-4S doesn’t have at high speed, resulting in the F-4S actually having higher thrust at 835mph(!?!?)
All of those tests were performed on the deck (or at ~500ft)
Nice little bvr fight vs the MIG-29A with R-27R, i think you guys underplay the SuperTEMP’s capability.
I think there is room for improvement, but not necessarily the issue.
My experience is that 9/10 engagements are at low alt and both sides are probably firing at around the same time and at the same range. I ususally wont fire until around 15kms. If the Mig-29 fires an R-27ER at the exact same time. He will hit first. Every single time.
Additionally. if the Skyflash misses. Which at low alt is highly likely, then the first goes WVR. Before you can even think about running away or turning around. Hes already done a 180, gotten behind you, caught up to you and put a burst of cannon fire into you or an R-73.
Playing at alt like that is fine and prorbably the best place for the F3, but has its downsides. One of hte biggest I find in SB is the tiny vertical axis, you have basically no look down ability. so it can be really hard to find things on radar. The manual slewing of the radar in the Y axis is poorly done in game.
In the off-chance they’re using the standard (and more realistic) R-27R, instead of the magically hypersonic 27ER…
