Yeah, it’s lovely. Considering I’m mostly use to gen 1 TIALD. The FLIR blows it out of the water. Can VID targets at insane ranges, often beyond the render distance so can just see exhaust coming out of thin air
So I’ve gotten a couple of GRB games with brimstones under my belt now and they’ve honestly been alright. Dealing with Pantsirs remains a problem but they can do some solid work once air defence is dealt with or you succeed in getting into the top blindspot. If they hit a target they’ve been pretty reliable at killing it.
ngl if they gave us storm shadows rather than gimped brimstones it would’ve been so much funnier, even more considering they actually have IR terminal guidance
we probably wont get storm shadows until the russians get their grom 1 back ASWELL as a stormshadow equivilant
Ah yeah because our 2 total we can carry will be equal to the 5-6 groms
And even then SS will come 4 updates after G-1.
Potentially 4, depending on how Gaijin feels (though a terrain following LOAL IIR+GPS cruise missile with terminal lofting and well over 100km range might be slightly more capable than a GPS bomb with a rocket motor)
Eh, i am one step ahead thinking about typhoon capability partialy the whole time
Plenty of stuff there is correct, but the Skyflash/ASPIDE stuff is nonsense dating back to the original requirements from the Italian air force for a CW illuminator that never materialized.
Sad that chart shows Skyflash really dont want to have to grind the Typhoon and have that as a 40k RP unlock
Thats the question just didnt see it yet at all either
Any tips for the Gr.4 and Brimstones in GRB? On the times I’m not insta-killed by a Pantsir, I try guiding a Brimstone but I’m already over the target and struggling to maintain lock by the time the missile reaches the target.
Don’t use Brimstone as your SEAD weapon, use Paveway IV in GPS mode. SPAA don’t move 90% of the time and GPS bombs are the best way of dealing with them.
Thanks!
Did the Gr.4 have a Ground Attack Radar, similar to that on the F-15E?
Same as the one on GR1 yeah, isn’t much use in game as its track range is round 6.7km. Blue Vixen and PS-05A should have TWS GMTI though. But still waiting on those modes being introduced.
How do you use the Paveway’s in GPS mode? Every time I drop one the laser automatically comes on.
you can disable automatic laser activation in the settings, and the seeker only has a range of ~4km last i checked
Ah yes, just worked it out thanks. What’s the range for lobbing a paveway on GPS? I just managed 10km in test flight
I’m not sure but the targeting pod/FLIR caps out at 20km
