Panavia Tornado (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion

good to know they are aware of the issue, also the new countermeasure pods have 0 ammo in them

What mods do you have unlocked? do you have the Flares/chaff mod?

Yes I have flares/chaff and maws mods unlocked. The terma come with no countermeasures

Yep, thats wierd :D

I mean it’s gaijin and something British. Probably forgot to put countermeasures in the pods on purpose 😂 hasn’t been reported either and I’m not gonna bother not worth my time.

It’s when equipped in a custom loadout

Both pods or when running 1x BOZ and 1x TERMA?

Not got them unlcoked yet (next unlock) so cant test it myself

Both terma

ahhh i see well its still a bug that needs patching hahaha

At least being a gamewide bug, it’ll be fixed by the end of the week, rather than a Tornado only Bug that’ll be fixed sometime next year :P

if the tornado or mirrage 2000 added in the patch was USA or Russia, they would both be 12.0. but were are too skilled for that

If not lower :D

Had to close and reopen game multiple times to fix the terma issue

another massive gripe is the napalm bombs being stronger then actual bombs, whilst being lighter. gaijin just nerfed the unrealistic rocket spams and replaced it with the napalm spams… absolutely anything to nerf the tornado

Something i’ve always wondered with the Tornado. Is there any perticular reason these wing speed-brakes deploy with reverse thrust and not airbrakes? They only deploy when actually on the ground but just seems wierd its only ever with the reverse thrust

those are spoilers, I suppose maybe they don’t always use the airbrake when using reverse thrust because of the spoilers?

Maybe.

I wouldnt be surprised if they were deployed seperately and gaijin just linked it to the RT

now that i think about it could also be that they deploy airbrakes in the air a little bit before landing, but they still may need the spoilers to help with manuvering
so once they touchdown and use reverse thrust then the spoilers dont really serve a purpose other than to help slow the aircraft

Yep, I realised why they dont deploy in the air is because they are used for control inputs. but when on the ground it doesnt really matter. Just strange to me thats its with the RT and not airbrakes

Tornado Gr4 has some wierd behavior with regard to “Activate target point” in Sim. Really annoying actually because being able to lock the FLIR pod onto something would actually be really useful but you cant at the moment because its impossible to aim.

Edit. I forgot about the HMS/HMD. For some reason its massively off-centre when just looking straight forwrad, This also means the Aim-9 boresight is way above the nose (in the exact same place as the CCRP target point) which makes aiming an Aim-9 harder than it should be. This is also present on the Gripen C and I dont recall this ever being an issue in previous updates.

So either HMD was previously disabling when looking straight forward and now its not OR it needs re-calibrating when looking straight forward .

So i’ve reworked this report into a HMD issue rather than Tornado Gr4 specific

At least the LMM is quite fast
