the thing is, these outlines have been proven wrong by the existence of weapons in WT, dont get me wrong a FnF brimstone would be powerful but more powerful then a multirole plane with ARHM and 6 KH38s?
the only thing I could see as a concern is seeing through foliage better but even then the IOG of a KH38 allows it to hit targets in dense forest
the concern of you being able to kill 6 tanks is already a fact with he Su34, and F15E and yes yes I know “But its FnF is better” its not even that much better as proven by the fact we can just get smoke with Chaff in it
the devs also seem to forget its far slower and has a shorter range than that of other weapons in game, which those downside would be justified if it had a slightly better FnF mode but it isnt if its actively worse in every way baring volume then these other weapons
Kh-38s existence does not disprove any of the well known features of Brimstone in fire and forget. Once again Kh-38 =/= Brimstone FnF mode. They are entirely different weapons with different capabilties.
issue is, typhoon which should be our best plane for A2A and A2G only has brimstone for a stand off missile, it could have storm shadow and spear but considering gaijins stance on the brimstone the spear has a snow balls chance in hell to make it
instead of saying this can you please explain what these differences are besides it can see through smoke and can see through foliage better? you make it sound like it can see through terrain and buildings.
According to the current Gaijin rhetoric, if Typhoon does not have IR-guided missiles, I’m afraid that both brimstone3 and spear will only be poor SAL mode guidance.
no you havent answered me on the specific differences are between the 2, and that is my question, if you can tell me a differences besides smoke that would actually make an impact in game ill drop the subject and wont bring it up again
It’s because it’s not what people expect when they see brimstone. Instead we have this gutted version that acts like a glorified hellfire that takes 3 business days to do anything paired with the poor IOG and impact point inherited from the poor modelling of hellfire will make them unfun to use even for them that are willing to use them. It’s really fun hitting a T-90 3 times with hellfires and all it does is black the barrel so why would someone want that experience in a jet. That’s why I’d rather not have them at all.
It might not be so bad if the rest of the missile was modelled correctly but ya know classified and gaijins mercy.
Im not sure what you are referring to here. The only outstanding report to resolve its its Proxy fuse. Range has yet to be proven for sure. Other than that, the missile has its full modelled performance for SAL mode.
thank you I never seen Gun jobs post about it, and he explained the actual differences better then you did, while I dont agree that it would destroy the already terrible balance at top tier, I am nothing but a man of my word so ill drop it thank you
Because we can’t get data for its range it had the effect of making its flight time longer over range causing severe speed bleed caused by excess drag to make it fit with gaijin current implementation to the extent that towards the latter stages of its flight it can barely keep itself in the air controllable and wiggles around like a worm and can causes the missile to completely miss the target because of this. Unless that got changed between devserver and live
The copy pasted IOG from hellfire doesn’t help either unless it got changed?
we already asked about IOG back on the dev server and apparently its accurate, its only meant to get the missile to the general location not hit the exact spot
