Panavia Tornado (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion

It’d be nice if they added the Harrier GR.9A with Brimstone instead of this “Proximity Fuse” thing you’re talking about.

No news yet about the proxy on Brim’s.

Gr9A is mmV only unfortunately

I don’t know what it’s called in English exactly, in Russian it’s usually called “radiovzryvatel”, which is probably more accurately translated as radio detonator, but in English I usually hear Proximity Fuse, and judging by the translator, Fuse has many meanings, including the one I had in mind.

bad, i hope they add this and then it will make sense to add brimstone to apache

Are you translating from Russian to English?

Yes

What you said was “brimstone on proximity fuse” instead of “Proximity Fuse on Brimstone”. I was making a joke in poor taste.

I see, thanks for the tip
I’ve always had problems with syntax.

Wait, accepted apologies means you don’t get the penalties?

As in if the apology is accepted then the killer won’t get any money taken off him and the killee won’t receive a repair cost

holy poly I didn’t knew that o.o

Who’s ready for a terribly modelled brimstone on the live server tomorrow

Eh… I wont use them, they have no use in sim.

But looking forward to the IR PGMs especially as ASMs. The ePaveways look fun and the HMS symbology + FLIR are nice QoL upgrades over the Gr1 for CCRP bomb runs.

Then the big one. We finally have the Mk103 engines.

I’m more excited for the IR PGMs and 9Ms with HMS tbh

But Brimstones will likely be quite good for sim

The issue is 1 missile per pass, so quite in-effecient vs something like a convoy. Better off 3x PGM-2000s at spaced out targets and RTB. Overall safer tactic. You can run 3x Brimstones with that loadout though

If they get prox fuse, i’ll use them as an A2A weapon though

You can ripple fire them, you just need to leave adequate time between launches, have some distance and slow down a bit

I dont think that works because of the speed of the launch aircraft.

Well he did say u need to slow down your aircraft
… which makes u vulnerable to spaas but who thinks of that

Even if you slam on the airbrakes and drop way down. I doubt you’d be able to get more than maybe 2 off in each pass, but leave yourself incredibly vulnerable to the Mig-29s

Personally, I am wary of how the RWR display in the cockpit was implemented. It was somehow small and three-sectioned. I still don’t understand the logic of distributing threats across sections. Compared to the RWR of the Tornado F.3, it was… bad.
