Panavia Tornado (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion

Yeah they’ll never do that lol, too much work for a plane which they just don’t care about.

This FM is just pure copium, the slats are the tip of the iceberg. The sustained turn is overperforming by a big percentage. It’s probably Because the aircraft has literally no instantaneous turn therefore it can’t loose its energy.

The FM needs to be remade so we just got to keep the copium rolling for the next century.

Hopefully the Typhoon isn’t far off

The current teams are USA vs everyone or USA and friends.
You are guaranteed to face 5-8 F-4S with some F-14s
They all have AIM 7F and an HMD F-4S used to be cheap kills but now they are a real threat. I would say the F-4S being able to carry 6 AIM 7F makes it more of a threat than a Tornado

80% of its FM could be fixed tomorrow without rewriting anything. They just wont modify the placeholder FM with updated information. The last 20% would be dependent on the finished code.

Yeah I misremembered what gunjob had said

I feel like GBU still don’t work like it supposed too kinda make GR1 terrible to play
@Gunjob have any idea what happen lad?

AIM 120Bs having a real issue using this wonder weapon.
What radar mode are we using?
What distance should we be releasing this missile, what range does the missile go active/Pitbull?
Do we have values for RCS of aircraft?

I have tried close 10 miles and they manage to spoof it, tried TWS and hard locking.
TWS is also massively buggy locking anything that isn’t a jet.

Missiles have a lock range of 16 km/ ~10 miles, they’ll use datalink until they have a lock, then not at all (even if the missile looses lock).

Just had another game and Aim120s are allergic to F-16 they fly straight not notching, I locked it the whole way and then the missile just missed. from 6km…Skyflash has better performance at those distances.

Is US chaff better than everyone elses? I have to go cold drop 50+ chaff in the hope of a missile maybe missing me.

Bol chaff is bad

I honestly couldn’t tell you, I find the 120s to be very reliable, although do watch out for the bug with radar locks where if you pull hard and loose lock, the game will feed datalink steering to the last place on the radar display the target was, not the last place in space the target was.

I just looked at the sensor view and my missile ignored the big fat RCS of the F-16 and instead tried to track the MICA missile…

TWS locking missiles is a massive issue at this BR. I’m aware BOL chaff is nerfed heavily but I’m dropping 50+ and he’s dropping a small amount surely it should level it out.

I would like the data for aircraft RCS or how the missile decides what to go for, if that value is modelled for each aircraft or everyone shares the same.

I dont think that is a bug but rather the intertial guidance thing we got a few weeks ago

That missile should not miss the target from that range switching from the F-16 to the MICA makes no sense.

Whats the issue?

Try use PD wherever possible

OK will try that, the AIm120s RADAR at that range it should be coming off the rail hot!

GBU that when drop at long range and at high ALT with correction of CCRP and CCIP act like they don’t see laser and missed
I’ll make the video later when i got my days off

That is because laser range of all GBU was reduced to ~4km. Over that bomb is dumb.

4KM isn’t that paveway minimum range is like 10KM already?

I dunno, someone else probably have some range charts. Still it seems unrealistic to me.

Looks like it got chaffed tbh
