Panavia Tornado (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion

Could still be handy to have. Has that been passed on as a suggestion for the devs?

Well, last year there were no works on it.

There are many reports for the various aircraft we have that had a PHC on,
yes.

Awesome, thank you

So any recent Tornado news from the devs?

Like BOL rails for the Gr1 or updated Cockpit HUD for the F3?

Nothing I can share as of yet.

Okay, thank you

why does the F.3 radar has in PD modes such as TWS and PD only is in HDN mode while other aircraft use normal PD mode?

Because other radars are MPRF or multimode, where as the AI24 is a HPRF radar.

Got a bug report for the Tornado Gr1 & F3 (and assumed to be the other 5 Tornados as well) withwise to nose down behaviour whilst in SAS Modes.

Most aircraft, like the Jaguar Gr1A seem to correct a natural nose-down behaviour when you enter SAS modes, but in the Tornado it doesnt seem to apply any elevator Trim. Based upon testing Gr1 needs around 2% with no load and up to 5% with a full load. Tornado F3 seems to be about 2-3%.

Big thank you to @Fluffy_Bucketles for helping me test this.

Well. Damn Tornado F3 is certainly fun in the new SB brackets. Fighting Su-39s are a pain in the butt still with IRCM. One made me really really work for the kill, thankfully he screwed up and crashed, but I had already damaged him (with a near direct hit with a Skyflash I might add)

But they have definetly done something with the radars in game, because im getting the same issues on the F3 that I’ve had previously on the Gripen C (ghost contacts) its really quite annoying. (yes report submitted)

The Skyflash missiles keep missing targets, even if they are barely maneuvering. Don’t know if anyone else is having the same issue.

People call them sky trash for a reason. Everyone suffers. Although the people with IOG and DL Don have that problem for some reason…

I had one this afternoon miss a target that I thought it should hit, but also had 3 kills with Skyflash STs in the same match (in different aspects)

But I am keeping an eye out for dodgy behaviour to report. Though it’s tricky in SB

If you want something I just had a SF fly in the complete opposite direction to a target.

Always good to share clips of it doing things like that if you can. Might even be worth submitting your own bug report if you have the clog for it as well

Here’s a question, how do you not immidiatly die to incoming SARHs in Tornado ADV? Notching seems impossible because you just can’t turn fast enough, F-4S slaughter me. All I have is AIM-9Ls which don’t work nearly as well as they used to.

Stock grind?

Only advice I can give is avoid the fight as long as you can, maybe go gun kill a bot or 2.

After the merge, you might be able to sneak in and pick up a kill or 2 against distracted players or sub-sonic strikers like any Su-25s about.

Best way to avoid SARH is to just hug the deck. Stay as low as you can, Ideally below about 30-50m. Should mitigate most SARH.

After that, all I can offer you is Good Luck. The Stock grind in the F3 is up there as one of the hardest. Should have had Standard Skyflash (not the DFs) as stock.

I know it got a big buff recently as it cant face the worst enemies but also a nerf because BOL pods. I’ve not played it in ages frankly my stats arent awful 17 deaths 15 kills makes it better than most my air RB planes definitly. But it’s still a kick in the teeth to play when you’re coming back to it a little unfamiliar.
It’s also sad that even with better Fox 1s, better Fox 2s and BOL pods it’s still bad enough to be considered the same BR as the Phantom.
