Likely a game limit when you have specific weapons attached in specific categories.
Yeah, but it must have been relatviely recent change, I dont recall it being a thing until just before I submitted the report. For any aircraft
Not sure, I swear its done this since the dev server where GR4 turned up.
Hmm… I dont recall, but I definetly dont remember it doing it on the GR1 prior at least, nor on the GR7 with the AGM-65s. Actually didnt realise it even did until I gave it a quick test with the GR7 this morning to see if it was an AGM thing now or a wierd Tornado only thing
It prolly has symbology for the PGM and Brimstone.
The harrier 2 has a square box that appears showing the seeker zone of the mavericks and a square or circle marker that appears in the hud on what the seeker head is locked too. As well as ranging in/out range iirc.
The square box moves to relate to what the TV is capable of seeing in its FOV.
I would assume the tornado has something similar.
Is that actually even modeled for the Harriers at the moment ?
No, the harrier 2 hud is 100% incorrect.
Take the F-18 early into test flight and mark a SPI point the hud will tell you range and bearing to the marker. It’ll also give you an arrow and a side of hud flash “hey man the targets over there”
Harrier is almost identical.
However the AV-8B and Gr.7/8 HUDs are slightly different.
Harrier 2 (USA) should almost be a copy of the F-18
Bold claim. The flight symbology is correct. Uses few old elements mixed with new, but 100% incorrect is bollocks.
Bold claim the standard hud mode is the VSTOL mode and is missing the vertical speed scale on the right.
So literally the most basic display is incorrect and incomplete.
The flight path marker is also wrong.
You said 100% incorrect, its missing some elements yes, but 100% incorrect… no. You don’t need to lie or over exaggerate. Calm yourself down.
This is the basic flight display of the AV-8B, the elevation bar is the only thing correct at a quick glance.
Anyways this is the tornado thread so I won’t get too off topic
Ive been thinking for a while that Britain could really do with an “early” Tornado IDS. Something directly equal to the Torando WTD61, MFG, IDS in terms of BR, notably 10.0 in GRB, would be a lot of fun with our actually quite decent 10.3 ground lineup, but it would be kinda dull in terms of air, so I was wondering of ways to make it more interesting.
The best idea ive come up with so far, is actually making it a much lower BR that the others in ARB/ASB.
Move the Jaguar GR1A down (lets face it, its really really not 10.7 material these days) and then place a Tornado GR1 (early) with Aim-9Gs at 10.7/11.0. That oculd be quite unique and quite fun.
What is everyone’s thoughts on it?
- 10.7 (with 9Gs)
- 11.0 (with 9Gs)
- 11.3 (with 9Ls)
- Dont add at all
Just curious
Did the Gr.1 enter service before the 9L was widely adopted in raf service?
I dont know
But its at least listed in the weapons in this thread.
But just like how the Jaguar GR1A doesnt have 9Ls, I think a Tonka GR1 could be restricted similarly
I’m afraid because I suspect it wouldn’t get foldered, I don’t think it’d be a worthwhile addition. I wouldn’t really want to have a dumb bomb Tornado, unless it was 10.7 Ground (which I just can’t see happening) even with 9Gs.
the WTD61, MFG and IDS (Italy) with 9Ls are all 10.0 in GRB. (obviously it wouldnt have TIALD or any guided weapon, only Mk13s and Mk83s)
In ARB it would just be a usable Jaguar GR1A
This poor plane could be so fun but the BR prevents that.
I’m not sure if the Gr.1 entered service before the widescale rollout of 9L then I think It would be perfect.
Yeah it would be.
I dont think it necessarily matters
Could do but would need to be foldered with the Gr.1
