Panavia Tornado IDS [All Variants] [All Countries] | History - Weapons - Performance - Discussion

At low speed it turns a lot better and has a much lower stall speed. Should make landing a lot smoother

You can read the bug reports for them to get an idea of some of the changes and changes that need to happen

There is an issue being investigated over in the main thread:

regarding the aircraft producing too much drag and limiting top speed as well.

But yes. The Tornados (the ADVs in perticular) have gotten a lot more potent and the introduction of Phimat as well could give the ADVs quite a big buff too.

For the ASSTA the introduction of both glide bombs and GPS guided bombs opens doors too.

Did the GR4 ever get JDAMS, or any other ground weapons that arent in game yet?

storm shadows and jp233

Wasnt mw 1 and jp223 compatibility removed with assta and gr 4?

compatibility?
no idea.
they were just phased out and not used anymore…
for the gr4 the timeline would allow for them to be fitted with jp233s; MW-1s… probably not…

I can’t understand why PGM2000 conflicts with TGP on GR4, but not on GR1.

Propably wanna ask that in the uk tornado thread

there some thing going wrong tornado lost it power There is a huge problem with acceleration
and some Aerodynamics problem
If any damage is inflicted, no matter how minor, the aircraft will immediately spin out of control.

any informations on what should the tornado ids ret8 carry? GBU 39? JDAM?

I would assume its meant to be this?

Yeah that’s basically it. Apparently it has an RWR akin to DASS so K band detection and all that.

im Wondering what A2A and A2G its gunna get. Last time I looked at it on the dev server it had nothing

Well hopefully AIM-9L/I and some GPS bombs. Nothing as good as GR.4 though.

Im really wondering what the BRs are going to look like. Im also wondering if we can finally get Mk103 engines on the GR1. They used the excuse of “The GR1 doesnt have Mk103 engines because thats what the GR4 is for”

Well… If the A200A has Mk103 and the A200C has Mk103s… I smell some hyprocracy

There’s like 1000000 examples of hypocrisy

honestly ill be happy with the MAW pods and ability to carry and have more enhanced paveways (pretty sure we can only carry 4 paveways with the 1995 version). would be nice though if gaijin properly named the italian variants though

So does anyone know what is going on with the Loadout of the german IDS SLE? Its got brimstones (for some reason) but only 9 compared to the 15 on the british GR.4. And only 4 HOSBO, 3 if you want a pod?
And why on gods green earth is it 12.3 in air rb with 2 9LIs?

Given it probably shouldnt have any, I guess its a way to still give an advantage to the GR4 which actually did use them.

That is unknown, wing mounted HOSBOs should be possible, but Gaijin is a bit wierd about evidence for wing mounted weapons on the Tonkas

Its the same BR as the Tornado Gr4. an argument could be made that they should be the same BR as the Mirage F1s at 12.0 but Given gaijin wont even lower the BR of the 3 at 11.7 to 11.3. Im not holding my breath for the SLE/GR4 to be 12.0

Yeah that’s kinda my question, why does it have them in the first place? And if gaijin wants parity between similar tornados why does it have less?

Probably especially since HOSBOs are not in service

Neither am I but the air RB BRs for the tornados make no sense. WTD61 and MFG at 11.3, ASSTA1 at 11.7 and now that one at 12.3?

Gaijin just added it to the SLE because it was one of the proposed weaponry in this brochure from Airbus.

Why wasn’t the loadout identical to the GR.4 is another question.
