Panavia Tornado: Common Cause

Don't forget - you can now activate video subtitles!

Building your own warplanes was always prohibitively expensive, but it became even more difficult after WW2, with Europe being in a state of economic decline. Even though Italy, Germany and the UK were still capable of designing new vehicles on their own, creating a new, truly modern strike aircraft definitely required a joint effort across the continent. That’s the story of the Panavia Tornado multirole combat aircraft, developed by combined efforts of Britian, Germany and a number of other countries.

“it suffered almost no losses?”
No???this voice is very misleading

At least 7 Tornado GR1/IDS were lost only during the First Gulf War,6 of them being part of the RAF and one of them of the AMI (Italian Air Force).
This last in particular was a very famous case here in Italy, since it was the first aircraft loss in combat since 1945 (fortunately the crew survived).

It’s true that the number of losses during its service is very low but still,it is not “almost no losses”

Just a shame Gaijin models the tornado so badly in game it’s barely recognisable as the aircraft it’s suppose to depict
