I mean yeah, but most other SPAA actually have comparable range to the SPAA at their BR, and the OTOMATIC just doesn’t.

When it’s IR SAM maybe, but if it’s SACLOS SAM, for OTOMATIC it would be hard to get any kill faster than teammate, that’s why I usually don’t spawn OTOMATIC if there is already such SAM in the team, especially something like FlaRakRad, ITO or Pantsir, on the other hand I can spawn and just go to engage ground targets until I spend all my 12 apfsds and some SAPOMs if I’m lucky.

Finally unlocked the Otomatic! I just want to say, as a SPAA enthusiast, this thing is strong, however I would prefer a Type 81 C SAM vs this at a 11.3 Br if were given an option to face air targets. This thing is just as good as the M247, but with a larger caliber and range, close the Lvkv 9040C from Sweden which sits at 10.3. This Otomatic is outdated against farther targets with longer range which where a missile will be needed at 11.3 battles. Now thanks to a certain buff for HE-VT rounds, I am able to shoot down A2G ordinance and prevent them from destroying my team and myself.
Summary: Great SPAA, too high of a Br and outdated. 10.7 would help a lot.
These kills, they had to be 5km or closer to kill them. Luckily they didn’t have AGM or else I’d be dead or wont be able to shoot them from far away. Don’t have thermals unlocked yet so will be harder to spot incoming AGM as well.

If for that matter, you can say the same thing about 2S38 which is a SPAA platform created for Russia and it only stands at BR 10.3 and they gave it the ability to do reconnaissance, like a light vehicle… And everyone agrees that 2S38 should go up 1 whole BR, 2S38 should not stand at 10.3 it is too strong.
There have been several warthunder pro-players who still wonder why OTOMATIC is treated this way compared to 2S38.
