The us doesnt get the aam-4… because the US didnt make the AAM-4. Yes, they had a technology exchange during the development of it, but thats like saying the UK made the F-35 as they developed some of the stuff on it. Or honestly even thats more accurate as there actually are british designed parts on the F-35; there is, to my knowledge, no foreign designed components on the AAM-4. Also yes, its currently shitting om the other ARHs, you want to know something? Its still underperforming significantly compared to IRL. Yes, honestly the AAM-4A shouldnt be in the game, we probably should just have gotten a 120B, but they also gave us a plane using a fake name that was a terrible choice to be added at all, we just have to deal with it now.
and most nations dont invest anywhere near as much into their military as the US does (as other nations invest in things like Health Care and Education…) So if other nations can keep up, with their own vehicles, on a fraction of the budget. Then its probably good enough in a conflict/domestic security. Especially with things like NATO meaning not everyone has to invest insane levels of funds into their military to go toe-to-toe with other big military powers like the US, China or “Russia”
The US spends so much on defense specifically because Europe isn’t keeping up. The US has more aircraft than most European nations combined. The US has more Raptors than any one nation has Typhoons. The US had more F35s than Europe has Typhoons. Let’s not pretend like Europe takes its own defense very seriously.
Those are good points, the thing is Europe does not actively try to keep with USA at least in terms of numbers, although thanks to NATO they dont have to.
Yep, though Europe, who cant fielded as many forces, does tend to opt for quality over quantity. It’s why a lot European infantry get a lot more training than the US for example. Also the winners of most NATO tank competitions is often the Challenger 2
Thats actually debateble considering Leopard2, Abrams series won many competetions as well.
Tbh i dont think Challenger is on the same level that Leopard2A7+,M1A2 SEPV3 sits because of obvious design choices. New Challenger might change that tho.
Exactly.
Well replacing limited amount of infantry will take a lot of time, Germans learned that in hard way so better training is essential in that case.
I think he wanted to say that The 120B is being handed out like candy to other countries and the US doesn’t have it yet. Both 15c and 16c only have the ‘A’
In game the A and B are probably going to be like the 7F and 7M in the fact that they are complete copy pastes, but Gaijin could have easily sidestepped this bullshit if they just gave every 120 carrier the B.
The US also spends a crap ton on European/NATO defense.
It’s fine to say XYZ about the US spending a lot, because we do. However a significant portion of our budget goes to helping other nations fund their militaries since they seem to be incapable of or unwilling to do it on their own (Like Canada failing to hit it’s 2% GDP rate and the US stepping in to help). Whenever the US tries to withdrawal, there are often many complaints and complications in nearby towns or the towns these bases are located in since they lose a source of income and stability.
Yes, the United States may seem “weaker” in relation to other countries in Europe at times. However that weakness often stems from having to find your base programs, so you can afford to spend money on experimental programs. In all, while yeah, the US suffers from XYZ, ultimately XYZ is caused by funding non-US forces. For example, we may be able to afford 100 more raptors had we not had to spend it on Euro defense (this is an example and not exact numbers. Do not quote this as factual numbers: they are merely here for point making). Or perhaps we could open up an experimental missile program. Or upgrade past the Aim-9 series. Etc. etc. etc.
