what kind of logic are you using, japanese engineers started developing their stuff pretty darn quickly specially cuz the AAM-3 was made at the same time as the AIM-9M while being superior, they just used their past knowledge on some weapons and tech from the US and started developing their missiles, japan has been known for advancing stupidly fast over other countries, just take a look at the F-2 being the first military aircraft on production with a mounted AESA radar

Not just F-15C MSIP II armed AIM-120C-5. F-16C Block 50, F-16AM MLU, F-16A Block 20 MLU (ROCAF) and JAS39 Gripen C (HuAF) mounted AIM-120C-5 AMRAAM
logic of one nation having a better missile by big enough margins it’s noticeable. It just forces people to grind the country that has the best missiles instead of focusing on making the people choose different missiles by different playstyles.
Imagine a long range low G pull missile and high G short range. People wouldn’t be saying OH one’s OP, instead they’d choose the one they like better.
The way it is now, people have to scour through datamines and just pick the clear winner, which for now is AAM4 after update we get another datamine and people hop on the next best tree.
They should, when it’s balanced. Plenty of planes use weapons they never did and lack weapons they used in the name of balance. Not sure why Japan using the AIM120A for now would be a big deal.

yeah i will agree balance its an issue here and hence some stuff for example AAM-4 its bigger than AIM-120 F15-J MSIP can only carry 4 AAM-4 and F15C can carry 6 AIM-120, but its up to gaijin the balance, is just that dont discredit japan developement they are pretty darn fast at developing stuff, so saying how AAM-4 is better than AIM-120 when its “just a copy” wich is false dosent really help with the argument of balance
balancing this is gonna be a nightmare, and giving AIM-120 to all countries its gonna annoy everyone cuz they dont get their own domestic missiles, for example france, USSR, Israel, Japan, china
AAM-4 is a domestic Japanese design, no one else in game will get those.
AIM-120 is the US design medium ARH, it was produced first and its general shape and planar fin array are iconic. AIM-120A/B/C are largely all the same, the AIM-120C-5 and onwards get significantly increased range.

both designs follow the philosophy of a relatively heavy warhead, and the need to balance the weight with a different style of fly, for example both of them loft in order to keep energy at the end and in order to have a higher range but the difference is that japan’s is more advanced in terms of electronics and systems, and US uses more explosive, some are different like MICA EM wich are meant for more shorter ranges like 20 km for example
