The OT-810 series of vehicles was a Czechoslovak post-war production of modified Sd.Kfz. 251 half-tracks. In Czechoslovakia, these vehicles were designated Hkl 6p and Hkl 7, mostly referred to as Hakl. The first OT-810 prototypes were produced in 1954 and had different armor layout and engine from the production variants. One of these prototypes was equipped with the vz.38/46, which is a Czechoslovak production variant of 12,7mm DShK machine gun.
The OT-810 was specifically designed to transport infantry, with one of its main modifications being armored roof hatches over the troop compartment at the rear of the vehicle. The OT-810D was a modification introduced in mid-1966, when Czechoslovakia was looking a new tank destroyer capable of engaging the most modern threats of the time, such as M60 pattons and more, while also being able to engage infantry. The OT-810D project was reffered to as Úkol BEZOT, which is name for the first prototype of this vehicle, that is a simple 82mm BzK vz.59 recoiless rifle on slightly modified OT-810, later prototype mounting the gun in more similar way of fighting compartment to the OT-810D.
To improve accuracy, the gun was paired with a 12,7 mm ZH-59 spotting rifle. The trajectory of the spotting rounds closely matched the recoilless gun, allowing the crew to correct aim before firing the main weapon.
The crew was made up of four crew members, this being driver, gunner, loader and commander.
