Still not enough to fully stop 3BM42 at 0 meters, lol
I think its to stop the side ERA “overperforming” due to volumetric and such. Also, im pretty sure era in game doesnt give any increases or decreases in protection depending on the angle (correct me if im wrong) so are the stats for the era the best or worst they could be given?
I’m pretty sure it does. ERA usually doesn’t meet its xray performance at 0 degrees, but can at higher angles.
Damn… Gaijin really cant fathom era other than russian era being good. Im just happy its not a TES situation where 1200mm of ce becomes 500mm of ce along with 30mm of ke and so on. Im still looking forward to it.
I remember doing some tests and found the era on the ufp of russian tanks gave as much ke and ce protection as they did flat and angled. May have to check again.
Also it’s funny how sidearmor CE resistance are calculated
There are only 2 layers of steel in the game now, although there should be 3
Whoever got the idea that 310*3=600…
Nah, It’s 3 there. Just hard to click on it
Also lower one is part of composite model
The protection is incorrect in any case
3 layers of steel should give about 500mm of armor (in the game)
Plus 280mm adds two layers of ERA
Create report maybe?
UPD: Already reported

Whats with the non moderator guy saying not a bug lol?
It turns out that without ERA the tank has only 340mm of armor
Although in the game 3 layers of steel and 2 layers of textol gives 510mm😂
This is absurd.
This is fucking funny. We take UFP 80U, replace 1 layer of 30mm textolite with a new ERA, weld another layer of such ERA on top. THEN WE GET WORSE RESISTANCE THAN 80U WITH WORSE ERA. Cuz that’s how physics work, idk?
I really hope the armor values aren’t final…
So far, it is incapable of protecting against DM53, M829A2, Type 10 or M338.
TBH only strv 122 can bounce DM53 at 0 meters
Still can be pened tho
Not just all three Strv 122s; but also T-80BVM, T-90M, ZTZ-99A, WZ1001, Leopard 2A7V, Leopard 2A7HU…
Either way, that’s besides the point.
…yeah
