It will be fine
But yes, Iraq might be better
Holland could’ve been cool but instead it was just a remake of a map that already existed. The BeNeLux in general would’ve been awesome for a big air map since lots of battles were fought there in WW2.
Yep in WW2. I dont understand why modern Holland was made into a low tier map where the tanks are all early ww2.
It just feels stupid to roll over a 2002 VW Golf IV with a Panzer III.
Also you are right with the map layout, thats the biggest reason why i dont like it, its just bad
That’s kinda real. I wish they could do like a map with different time periods, like Flanders but on a larger scale.
Maybe two maps using the same terrain but with different buildings and roads and stuff. Like “Berlin (1940s)” and “Berlin (1990s)” where its the same map but with different buildings/environment
Scenarios for ground modus
Sarajevo
Vukovar
Siege of Dubrovnik
Bosanka Krupa
Rožna Dolina
Nova Gorica
Berlin 1989 with the GDR wall would be interesting
I have already made this map proposal, however it was not accepted
What was the reason?
I don’t know, after they never give the reasons why the suggestions are not validated.
However I suppose it is because of the form of suggestion used, I had suggested a huge map in which I had proposed a multitude of smaller maps
Can you remember this map that you had to flow over the English Channel to bomb targets in Britain or France? It was large for non jets and was removed because the players can’t take the time to fly 5 -10 minutes without shooting…
That’s weird, because I did one sort of similar recently and it got accepted
In fact, in the proposal I made there was a large map for the simulation that I divided into about ten smaller ones for tank, boat and plane battles. I think that’s why it wasn’t accepted.
EDIT : I had kept the suggestion

Here is a suggestion for adding a new map allowing the recreation of a lot of historical event, the map of the Balkans.
Historical review :
The Balkans, corresponding partially with the Balkan Peninsula , is a geographical area in southeastern Europe with various geographical and historical definitions. The region takes its name from the Balkan Mountains that stretch throughout the whole of Bulgaria. The Balkan Peninsula is bordered by the Adriatic Sea in the northwest, the Ionian Sea in the southwest, the Aegean Sea in the south, the Turkish straits in the east, and the Black Sea in the northeast. The northern border of the peninsula is variously defined. The highest point of the Balkans is Musala, 2,925 metres (9,596 ft), in the Rila mountain range, Bulgaria.
This region of Europe has been the site of numerous conflicts, including the First and Second World Wars as well as the most recent wars of independence of the Balkan states.
The map that I propose above is huge, it is approximately 500km on a side, however this map could be cut up to recreate a large number of battles whether by plane, tank or boat.
Air maps
Arcade
The arcade battles take place on small maps with a maximum size of 32kmx32km, for this I offer several sub-divisions of the large map allowing the creation of arcade battles.
-
Siege of Sarajevo
The siege of Sarajevo from 1992 to 1996 took place during the Bosnian War and is the longest siege suffered by a capital in modern history, this siege saw numerous combats, particularly by plane. I therefore propose a first map centered on this city
This map will show an open area above the city and would be surrounded by low mountains and valleys.
-
Belgrad Offensive
The Belgrad Offensive was a large battle of the second World War led by the Soviets and the Yugoslavs to free the city of Belgrad. The assault on Belgrade proper began on October 14, 1944. Supported by significant air support, the Soviets and Yugoslavs entered the city. On November 24, Belgrade and its surroundings were declared secure after bitter fighting on the Tisza (Danube) and for control of Pančevo and Kraljevo near Belgrade.
This map will present a semi-urban hilly terrain crossed by the Danube
-
Albalie campaign
During the invasion campaign of Italy by Italian forces in 1939, the weak Albanian army at the time could not resist for long. However, one battle remained remembered due to the resistance of the Albanian forces, and this was the Battle of the Port of Durres
This map will present land delimited by the coast, with the sea on one side and the mountain on the other.
Realistic
The realistic battle maps can reach a size of up to 132km, several maps can also be presented for this game mode
-
Siege of Sarajevo
This map would be an enlargement of the arcade map of the same name and would be centered on the city of Sarajevo.
The terrain of this map would be mountainous and wooded, the city of Sarajevo being in a large valley separating the mountain range, this map would be similar to the Pyrenees map present in the game
-
Belgrad Offensive
This map would be an enlargement of the arcade map of the same name and would be centered on the city of Belgrade.
The terrain would remain hilly on the majority of the map with small mountains in the southwest, the map would be separated in two by the Danube
-
Kosovo war
The Kosovo War, one of the Yugoslav wars, took place from March 6, 1998 to June 10, 1999, on the territory of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, pitting the Yugoslav army against the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA). The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) participated in the conflict from March 24, 1999 by operating bombing campaigns throughout the territory of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. The armed conflict culminated on June 11 in the withdrawal of Yugoslav troops from the territory of Kosovo.
The terrain on this map will be hilly with small mountains and will present primarily a rural landscape.
Simulator
For the map in simulator mode I simply suggest keeping the map in its maximum size, this would allow many battle scenarios to be deployed and historical events to be recreated, the south-west part located in Italy could be guarded, planes from the NATO having been stationed there during the various conflicts in Yugoslavia
Ground Maps
-
Siege of Sarajevo
This map would be centered on the city of Sarajevo already mentioned earlier in this suggestion
The proposed map is around 2.5kmx2.5km and in a city area, the center is the bottom of the valley and is made up of large buildings and major roads, the north and south edges of the map are on the hillside and have homes and smaller and residential neighborhoods
-
Belgrad Offensive
This map would be centered on the city of Belgrad already mentioned earlier in this suggestion
This map would be approximately 4kmx4km and will present hilly urban terrain, the right part of the city being made up of small dwellings with restricted roads while the left part is more industrial with more important traffic routes. The central island is wooded and could be accessible by crossing the river depending on its water level
The list of possible terrain for creating tank combat is immense, so I will not mention other map possibilities so as not to forget any. Many maps could be created with completely different environments, ranging from the city to the mountain to the plain, the choice is therefore very free, do not hesitate to give the area that you most want to see in tank battle
Naval Maps
-
Albalie campaign
This map would be based on the aerial battle map of the same name proposed above
There is not much to say about this map except that it is 10kmx10km and that it is located in front of the port of Durres, attacked by the Italian fleet in 1939 and two times during the first World War
-
Attack on Premuda
At 3:30 a.m. on the morning of June 10, 1918, the battleship SMS Szent István, in company with the SMS Tegetthoff and seven other ships en route to attack the Otranto Dam, was hit by two torpedoes launched by the Italian torpedo boat MAS- 15, under the command of Lieutenant Commander Luigi Rizzo (who had previously sunk the SMS Wien), near the island of Premuda, near Zara.
This map will present an area of islands around the port of the nearby city
Just as with tank battles, it is impossible to cite all the possible areas that could host naval battles in this area because very many battles took place there during numerous wars, therefore I will not cite any more in order not to don’t forget
Pro :
- Large map allowing the creation of numerous historical scenarios
-
- Possibility of dividing the global map into different small maps allowing you to have missions for different battle modes
Con :
- New terrain type that needs to be created entirely
- The entire map is larger than those currently in game
This is pretty detailed, but yeah I think it was because of all the different maps.
Would you mind if I take some information from this for my own suggestion?
That’d be pretty cool. I’d also really like to see a Afghan ground map, or maybe even Chechnya.
A Grozny Chechnya map would be really cool.
No problem you can use everything you want
Gaijin seem to avoid maps now where wars were actually fought and seem to go for place where no battle was ever fought. Any reason for this? Are they worried about upsetting people? Some really bizarre settings lately.
I just wished war zones looked like war zones.
Is abandoned town not Serbia or Kosovo already? Seems very similar
No, its located in Tkvarcheli, Georgia
It is, but this brings up another complaint I have about more recent maps. The maps are no longer real places, instead they are just “places” loosely based on a real location. It’s like the uncanny valley of almost human except just not enough to be noticed, but here it’s almost a real location but just incorrect enough to be noticed.
Whereas we used to have maps like Berlin, Normandy, Kursk, Iwo Jima, Stalingrad, etc., now we get generic places that are almost but not quite real places. Southeastern City is almost but not quite Hong Kong. Abandoned Town is almost but not really Georgia. Golden Bay is almost but not quite San Francisco. Fulda is almost a representation of the Fulda Gap but isn’t. They’ve been doing a trend of making almost real maps and I think it’s kind of sad.
Straits of dover? It still shows up in air sim ec.
Yes exactly the ones I mean, they took them out of the map pool in RB because too many were simply not able to fly for 5-10 minutes without shooting or were incompetent to carry enough fuel.
