ok thanks I mainly do ground anyway lol
Air, ground, coastal or Bluewater?
Air is rather solid, it’s a little frustrating between BR8 and BR11 and past that requires a particular playstyle that doesn’t suit everyone until the very top tier, but is largely good. Just a few holes that need patching and a few major outstanding bug reports like fixing BOL which affects all our rank 8 aircraft.
Ground is okay, has it’s weaknesses like being almost entirely APDS or Solid shot which makes it a hard nation to play. Has a few fun brackets though like 8.7/9.0 and 10.3 but other than that, it’s interspersed diamonds in the rough.
Coastal is a slog because most of our coastal boats are glass canons, I’ve not gotten to the frigates yet.
Bluewater is very good bar a few annoying exceptions. But is otherwise very strong with the recent changes to naval
Once you learn how to play a vehicle they are very good
good to know, thanks!
ok, ty
Anything British when going uphill:
Would have to disagree with your views on 10.7+ the chally 2 isn’t so bad once you get used to it. everything else is really accurate though
I mean, thats not even the fuel tank eating the shot, there’s just not really anything there to do damage, they would have to have had shot more to the left to hit the ammo rack there.
I agree, confused why they even bothered calling them a “cheater” didn’t they see the hit cam
yeah i know looking at the X-Ray, i just thought it ate it before seeing it in the hit replay
I cant really speak for naval but can for air and ground
Ground:
Reserve is very fun,
2.7 to 4.0 is hell,
4.7 is great,
7.7 is good but suffers from extreme compression
8.0 is what the 7.7 lineup should be
8.7 is brilliant because APDS actually works now
give up any higher
Air:
Spitfire, that’s all you need to know for prop BR
early jets are usually 1+BR too high to even be usable, you will hate life
Typhoon is very good
i was just watching an episode of Armour Cast
if L26 is “CHARM 1” and L27 is “CHARM 3”
What Happened to CHARM 2?
A slightly pedantic clarification: L26 is the APFSDS projectile. The L26 projectile plus the L12 charge (fired from the L30 gun) is known as CHARM 1. The L26 projectile plus the L14 charge (fired from the L11 gun) is known as Jericho 2 and has less penetration (due to lower velocity).
CHARM 2 was planned, but appears to have been cancelled (probably because it was easier to just wait for CHARM 3 / L27). It was to retain the L12 charge and the design of the L26 penetrator, but would have manufactured the L26 penetrator out of an improved DU alloy giving better penetration (estimated to be about 30 mm better than CHARM 1).
2.7 to 4.0 is hell
I would say 2.7 is fine if you don’t take it too seriously, the 2pdr Crusader, a couple Valentines, the Archer, and some 2pdr wheely bois.
3.0 gives you some 6pdr things, the Churchill box, and a Bofors.
3.7 gives you Cromwells, a Sherman, Achilles, 6pdr SARC.
4.7 is great
I feel like we have opposite opinions now haha, 4.7 feels like it loses a lot of flexibility, it can work well in downtiers but I feel like uptiers are reliant on the Avenger (and now M44)
7.7 is good but suffers from extreme compression
8.0 is what the 7.7 lineup should be
Yea agree here
8.7 is brilliant because APDS actually works now
I would say 8.3 is worth a try, it gives you the ZA-35 and Falcon which can really do well, the Vickers Mk.3 and Ollie give you laser rangefinders (and the latter gets a dart too), you also get the Warrior and, if you feel like it, a couple ATGM carriers.
8.7 gives you the Chieftains and Vickers Mk.11, and if you feel like it the Rooikat Mk.1D (which last I heard was pretty poor) and personally I’m not sure if it’s worth uptiering the rest for.
Going beyond that kinda depends on your aircraft and also if you have any premium or event vehicles.
9.3 is kinda slim but gets you the Bucc S.2 and the Wessex as CAS options, and if you have the Khalid it helps round it out.
10.0 is kinda doable if you have the proto-chally but still slim, Desert Warrior slots in as the light vehicle and you get 2 SAM options, and can slot the Rooikat 105 if you have it (or some 9.3s if you’re desperate)
10.7 is where I would stop, Chally Mk.3 and Vickers Mk.7 with the L26 round, 5 SAMs available so you can take what works best for you, T-90S if you’re patient enough, and the Bucc S.2B and Jaguar GR.1A providing “smart” CAS in different flavours, alongside the Lynx if you like Helis.
Massively let down by the gun. You’ve got an extremely long reload, but very little damage on target, so missing ammo or crew is incredibly punishing. The optics aren’t the best either IMO.
Somewhat disagree, the combination of Olifant Mk.2 and Chieftain Mk.10 is very powerful for plinking on longer range maps, and both have surprisingly strong armour at-tier and in a downtier, at will still occasionally save you in a uptier. The VFM5 is great and I implore you to give it a serious go if you haven’t already, probably one of my favourite top tier-ish LTs in the game. The biggest let down is SPAA, the ZA-35 & Chieftain Marksman are stellar SPAAGs but in an uptier (which this BR sees alot of) they really start to struggle.
Personally I would go 10.3, it’s a little higher and you can get sucked into the 11.3 premium torment nexus, but the TTD and CR1 Mk.2 are great fun imo.
Thanks!
You’re in QRH too?
Have been for a decent while, since oct/nov iirc
