Object Render Distance issue in 2026

This topic is specifically about objects render distance from air perspective in Ground RB, objects like buildings, bridges, rocks, houses … etc, exclusively in 2026.

This topic is not about players vehicles render distance, and it is not about tree range as well. I will come to that in other topics.

Is there any reason the render distance for ground objects is set this low recently?

I started noticing this after the last two updates, I believe.

From an aircraft perspective, ground objects only seem to render at around 9 km when fully zoomed in using third-person view. That distance is far too short. It’s very noticeable, distracting, and honestly looks quite ugly.

My settings are on the highest preset, and my crew level is maxed.

Zoom in and a million objects suddenly appear; zoom out and they instantly despawn again.

I hope the devs consider fixing this issue.

Three months ago it looked normal, but now it clearly doesn’t.

This is LOD and you can change it in game under “Tree range”. To increase it more you need to edit in config “rendinstDistMul:r” up to 8 (0,5-3,5 is ingame setting). and then set config as read only. But be careful it can hit your fps a lot.

I tried tree range, max or min will not affect the render range of building, rocks … etc. I usually play tree range at max btw, but I get fps drop when spawning a plane in Fulda, Campania and Japan so I min tree range in these maps.

Tree range min\max (in-game settings) didn’t affect this issue, at all. And the render range of objects was normal 3 months ago.

I didn’t try changing values in the file
