The Object 292 wasn’t a glass cannon when it was first added at 10.0. It only became one after players started crying that it was OP, which led to Gaijin bumping it up to 10.7. Now it’s fast, hits hard, but dies if you sneeze at it.
You mean like the T-80U? Which literally runs at a higher rank at same BR? Or the KV-1? Do I really need to make a list of all the Soviet vehicles that show up across multiple tech trees? There’s already an entire suggestion to split the Russian tree in two because of how many vehicles it has.
I agree with your take on its current power level. But I’m just saying—if Gaijin decides to raise its BR to 11.0 or higher, then ERA would make sense. At its current BR, giving it ERA wouldn’t make it overpowered either. It wouldn’t solve its biggest issues like the long reload or the exposed weak spots—it would just make it a little less likely to get one-tapped by someone hitting your turret cheeks.
Dawg, if you’re moving it to 12.0, just give it the full BVM package at that point.
And even then—do you realize it would still be worse than the Leopard 2A7V? The Leo gets 40mm less pen, sure, but it has arguably the best armor, powerful MGs, a 6.0s reload, and better mobility.
I get where you coming from but you see what you did ? Offering br raise for 292 in exchange for some era tile that prob not gonna help much beside fooling the average joe who literally can’t aim ? You called all the available US main out of the woodwork just to call the 292 Op (It is not , strong sure but OP is not). You not gonna get anything useful out of this discussion
and the BVM and T-90M completely destroy most nations top tier beside the Leopards.
Ultimately its a compression issue, but if the Leopards were to move up to say 12.7, then the BVM at the very least would move up to 12.3 even if a lot of other 12.0s remained at 12.0.
But the 292 is a pain to deal with, especially when it gets downtiers. I find that shells like L23 consitantly take 2 or 3 shots to kill it, even if they pen and the 292 is a guranteed one shot against pretty much everything.
It is probably one of the most OP event tank they’ve ever added and, if it wasnt perhaps for the compression, should really be 11.0 at the very least compared to even 10.7s. Let alone tanks down to 9.7 that also have to face it.
Not really. BVM I can see it however the T-90M? No. Unless you’re playing a Challenger (cough cough), you will always beat it into position for one, among its many other weaknesses.
Agreeable.
For all intents and purposes it is a worse T-80B. Worse armor, worse survivability, far worse reload, with the 292’s only advantage being the shell. While it is a good shell, It is 100% not worth the 10s reload. I’d say its fine as is, just that compression around the 292’s BR range could be solved.
Just purely on the grounds they have a sligtly longer reload with slightly weaker shells and cant hulldown like everyone else can usually means they arent too hard to deal with. Though the Micro maps usually favour them heavily.
If we had some decently sized maps, they’d loose a lot of their current power and they are rather heavily carried by the obscenely OP CAS the soviets have at the moment.
So with proper proper decompression, they’d be fairly high, but just below the 2A7s
I just find that L23 and even L23A1 just dont pen it and I’ve even nailed them a few times with things like MILANs and TOWs and done very little damage despite the fact they have no ERA.
IMO, something isn’t right with their damage models for something that is suppose to be a “glass canon”
The whole glass cannon thing is pretty false ngl. Against rounds from 11.0 and above sure, but it is just a T-80B in terms of armor, which has decent armor for 10.7.
Which is unfortunate , not talking about Russia only here. The three major and Swed can destroy every other nation. Even if the US main want to cope about how bad the Abrams are. They are still far better than , say Brit with chally 3 TD or the top of the line Chally 2. Maybe the French with their Top tier line up can and Italy with a single 2A7V. But the rest ? It is straight up suffering simulator. Decompression , moving vehicle are clearly better out of the range of the weaker Top Tier MBT is an option but Gaijin sure as hell not gonna do it.
It is always funny seeing forum talking about Biased this Biased that but they completely ignore the problem of Minor nation really got nothing going for them. Sometime it ground sometime it is air but for most of the time it just Ground. They barely got nothing for the average player to grind them. Hell , even myself trying to grind Brit tree and it has been a really big and slow slog through the ground tree. Love how the Challies look but good lord these thing are just miserable to play
Brother you are using HEAT-FS in this screenshot, which is also the only thing Kontakt 1 is good against. Nobody in their right mind uses HEAT-FS against an MBT after they unlocked APFSDS.
Like this has to be bait right, because otherwise those screenshots are beyond stupid.
Even the T-90M is already considerably worse than the 2A7 for anybody with 2 braincells that cooperate every now and then.
Yup, you summed up Britains ground tree quite nicely. And the greatest shame, it’s entirely Gaijins intentionally doing. Plenty of really really interesting additions skipped or ignored and what we do have is often in a rather poor state
All of which can get frontally penetrated in an uptier match.
You do realize that the Maus being at 7.7 regularly sees HEATFS, APFSDS and ATGMs, right? Or are you going to just try to conveniently gloss over the fact that of the 3 tanks you mentioned - The Maus is the MOST vulnerable in an uptier?
You’re proving real fast how disingenuous you are.
You’re also forgetting that 155mm HE to the turret cheeks of the Maus will knock it out on the first shot. Angling isn’t as helpful as you think it is for the Maus. So long as the Maus is pointing the gun at you, the cheeks are always easy to cut through with any of the prior mentioned rounds. Angling won’t save it.
You’re still being disingenuous to try and support your lackluster argument, but you have nothing going for you at all.
For f’s sake, a BT-7M could kill a Leopard 2A7V—does that mean the BT-7M should be at 12.0? No. Anyone posting on this forum should know that in War Thunder, Getting Gaijined happens. It’s not always going to work—but you just need skill to deal with it. Sure, it’s unbalanced, but how come no one’s calling out the HE launcher users?
Take the Maus: by angling, it’s almost frontally proof against early APDS and APFSDS. By now, you should know better than to take averages into account, right?
The whole point of my argument is not your definition of armor, and being disingenuous doesn’t make me wrong. The Object 292 historically could take an ERA package, and since in-game balance allows for it without making it OP, it should be added. The main drawback of the Object 292 is its reload rate—a trade-off for the best APFSDS round at 1.3 BR lower than the second best.
As long as the tank’s main weakness—the reload speed—exists, anyone who isn’t an average P2W player should know how to kill it. Sorry, but if you can’t kill a T-72/T-80, that’s a skill issue. Both tanks have the same weak points, with their lower plates and driver ports being exploitable—if one doesn’t work, the other will.
The ERA package only resolves the issue of being penned in its non-weak spot areas, where it has composite armor. Sorry, but if you’re in your Leopard 2A7V in a down-tier, the Object 292 should be something you fear—just like how the Pz IV is for the KV-1, or the IS-2 is for the Tiger II.
