Object 292 Needs ERA – Proven Compatibility, BR Justifies It

Higher BR tanks have an easier time penning lower BR tanks, shocking revalation. The 292 also lolpens everything at a lower BR (hell even at it’s own BR and in uptiers).

The T-80B armor will stand even less of a chance against rounds like DM43 and M829A1 though lol.

Oh boohoo. Find me a tank that can’t get penetrated frontally in an uptier match.

Oh, wait, that’s right. Every tank can get penetrated frontally when it’s in an uptier match.

They could add these i guess.

Well, did it have ERA IRL?

Also, it’s still hilarious how people think it’s OP. No thermals, poor mobility, no smoke grenades, no MG, and a 10 second reload (twice as fast as some stuff it meets).

292 is no where close to OP.
It’s a “medium tank” that fills the role of tank destroyer.
No smoke grenades, no machine gun, slower reload. It’s fine where it is.

Either way it doesn’t need ERA. It’s armored enough for its BR.

no

Are you aware of a concept called a glass cannon? Also the armor isnt even that bad, you would hate italy top tier

clearly not true!!

Tell that to America who’s been having every single unique vehicle stripped away one by one every month

Zero vehicles have been removed from the American tech tree.
If you meant something else, you’ll have to clarify.

I don’t support it because it’s not accurate to the vehicle Gaijin based themselves to introduce into the game,

The surviving and only example of the Object 292 is capable of having ERA installed on the hull (as you can see by the bolts in the front of the chassis) but just like the in real life vehicle it’s not the case.

The vehicle is a tank destroyer dressed as a main battle tank you should keep that in mind, while you have a wonderful weapon it’s just that, the armor surely works but it won’t stop shells going into the lower frontal glacis,

I guess the firepower in one single shot and the damage in one single hit and decent mobility (for Soviet main battle tank standards) can counter any issue you find in this vehicle, overall I think it doesn’t need any improvements as it may cause unnecessary battle rating increase.

A 13.0 with a 10-second reload timer?

With ERA it gonna be at least 11.7 due to people unable to aim and their shell doesn’t automatically go through when they point and click. The 292 as of now is a pretty fine vehicle , not good not terrible. Not too OP and not too weak. We do not need ERA for it. But Im down for cosmetic tho , wouldn’t hurt slapping fake ERA on your vehicle since we got people putting the entire ardennes on their vehicle

292 is indeed OP at its BR, adding ERA and thermals definitely will make it worth 12.0

well you can do the same to anything that isn’t UFP of uparmored Leopard which you’re not going to face it with 292 unless you put something high BR so i don’t see the problem here.

And the ability to wipe off the floor of any MBT frontally with signature T-80 mobility and protection!

At present, Object 292 follows the configuration in reality. There’s nothing needs to be changed.
Besides, when can the T-80B obtain historical new frontal armor protection and remove the thermal sight?

Cough cough Churchill I… cough Maus… cough T95… cough KV-1.

The Object 292 wasn’t a glass cannon when it was first added at 10.0. It only became one after players started crying that it was OP, which led to Gaijin bumping it up to 10.7. Now it’s fast, hits hard, but dies if you sneeze at it.

You mean like the T-80U? Which literally runs at a higher rank at same BR? Or the KV-1? Do I really need to make a list of all the Soviet vehicles that show up across multiple tech trees? There’s already an entire suggestion to split the Russian tree in two because of how many vehicles it has.

I agree with your take on its current power level. But I’m just saying—if Gaijin decides to raise its BR to 11.0 or higher, then ERA would make sense. At its current BR, giving it ERA wouldn’t make it overpowered either. It wouldn’t solve its biggest issues like the long reload or the exposed weak spots—it would just make it a little less likely to get one-tapped by someone hitting your turret cheeks.

Dawg, if you’re moving it to 12.0, just give it the full BVM package at that point.

And even then—do you realize it would still be worse than the Leopard 2A7V? The Leo gets 40mm less pen, sure, but it has arguably the best armor, powerful MGs, a 6.0s reload, and better mobility.

Calling the 292 OP is one of the takes of all time.

Every tank that’s not a BVM,T90M,B+ is worse than the 2A7, flawed logic.
