Due to the incorrect calculation of the suspension components as internal vehicle structure and insufficient armor thickness in certain gaps, the inner tracks of Object 279 when struck by high-explosive or HESH would cause the entire vehicle to experience overpressure. As a tank designed to withstand nuclear blast shockwaves, Object 279 should have demonstrated better performance against conventional high-explosive and aerial bombs.
back then
you were able to survive so many bombs on the head, and now dies to a 250lb bomb thats NEXT to it
rarely touch it now since CAS got more intense
back then during squadron battles, people kept dying since they kamikaze`d me all the time with bombs and didnt kill me at all, only took my barrel and tracks
but now a single sneeze can take you out
its not just bombs, now you can literally die to any HE or heat over 2.5kg
The other annoying thing is the APHE won’t fuze on thin armored vehicles like artillery units pzh2000 or light tanks, it just passes through them and deletes one crew at a time lol
I’ve been killed by XM246 multiple times the last week. But then you’ll survive stuff like this:
It still dominates, though. But something is up.
It’s a presumption of mine, which means I don’t have any evidence to back it up but it seems that high explosive shells are overperforming but at the same time is not consistent, sometimes it slaps everything another times it needs pin point accuracy to do something (depending on the target).
Obj 279 isn’t designed to roll over a nuclear landmine and keep going, it’s designed to not flip over in the case of a nuclear explosion happening a few km away. Even a simple AT mine will kill the tank if it rolls over it.
if you think that obj279 should be over pressured by 2kg HE and this performance is consistent with other tank’s performance as well as its BR, I have nothing else to say.
Thanks for the tips on killing the Noobject 279!
