What is it?
The Object 1200 was a BMP-1 alternative using a 8x8 wheeled chassis instead of a tracked one. It was essentially the mother of the Object 911, using the same turret and armament as the BMP-1, and also being amphibious.

History
It was created by the Bryansk Automobile Plant. The Bryansk engineers had experience with the BTR-60 and decided to create a wheeled armored fighting vehicle of their own. It was made for the BMP-1 IFV competition, so it was armed with the same turret, armament, and required the same requirements. The development of the Object 1200 started in 1964, and in 1965, the only prototype was created. It had similar armor and overall construction to the BTR-60, but the engine was closer to the back on the left side, leading to a very tight troop compartment. The “Bryansk BMP” as it was nicknamed was submitted for competition with a simplified turret as all the turrets were the same. The Object 1200 was considered acceptable during the trials, but had many downsides. One was the size, being very cramped for troops, the driver and commander, and overall very tight. The main problem was the wheel chassis. While fast and great for paved roads, it struggled immensely on off-road trials, especially snow. Additionally, while it was amphibious, it struggled to leave the water on a bigger slope, and was unstable after coming ashore. The Object 1200 overall had too many downsides compared to the victor of the competition, the Object 765, or the now called BMP-1. The Object 1200 was preserved and now resides in the Kubinka Tank Museum.

Place in War Thunder
I think this would be best at around 7.7 - 8.0 with the original BMP-1. While it has its benefits of speed, it struggles with armor and offroading capabilities. I think it would be better as an event vehicle though due to it being a BMP-1 submission.

Final Remarks
This is my first submission, so it’s gonna be a little short/structured weird, but not too much is known about this vehicle, plus most of the articles are in Russian, and google translate only goes far. Thank god ChatGPT is able to find sources. Please tell me how I did and what I can change for my next submissions.
