2000 points to instantly kill the match is a no go for me.
Yeah I agree, and the reduced SP of being able to spawn the Nuke:
- Nuke Cost (Same as now, the chance to drop) —> Lowered to 2000SP
- Instant Nuke (Instantly winning the match) —> Added for 2500SP
- New Nuke Carriers for all nations, added counter measures for Top Tier Nuke Carriers
- Team Killing and Friendly Collision with Nuke Vehicles disabled
That’s not what I said, 2000SP for what is currently in game and 2500SP to win the match without the need to drop.
Yup i missread. But still the same, The new nuke carriers & friendly fire sound nice but Instantly ending a game based on points is still a no from me.
It just promotes toxic gameplay.
I respect your opinion, but how would instantly winning a match after 2500SP be toxic; rarely do you see 1 nuke a match, let alone 2 or 3? Perhaps I’ve miss read?
Personally, if you give players an “instant win” button that they get after 2500SP some players WILL not use it and instead taunt the enemy team in chat and wait until the very last moment to use it, especially if that players team is currently loosing and they can win at the press of a button.
So it’s a no from me. There are other solutions that would work better.
Spawn camping & CAS is already bad enough, Adding a “instant match end” mechanic to that will just promote those two even more.
I’d rather see it raised to 3000 to be honest
If anything, nuke requirements should be higher, I have had so many matches where every games someone managed to drop it back to back. I do eventually finds them extremely annoying at time lol especially when your team is steamrolling the enemy team but you suddenly hears the siren but it belongs to the enemy team.
Yep, 100% agree; but then the issue turns to spawn camping and CAS, not the fact the Nuke is too expensive for just a chance to drop.
It is really not
Or just make some other jet carry the nuke at higher tiers?
2500 SP is enough for a nuke.
It’s already not even 3x the cost of CAS.
More like 6 or 7…
Biggest no down in planet earth.
If a nuke costed only 2000SP instead of 2500, I bet every game there would be at least 2 to 3 guys with a chance to call in a nuke. Sometimes the matches are fast enough that the research points that we get is almost null, with this added it would be even worse in some scenarios.
As for the 2500 points instant win, that breaks furthermore the enjoyment of playing war thunder. Why should there be a mechanic that has 0% counterplay added?
Nothing wrong with more common Nukes, they are too rare imo.
and 0 counter play to getting 2500SP? You say that as if 2500SP is easy to get consistently…
as my other comments say, and is already heavily implied. I’d want better Nuke carrier as well as this change.
They don’t need to be common, its in a good spot as it is. If anything the nuke carriers themselves need to be reworked as some other people have already suggested.
I know 2500SP isn’t easy to get, I have dropped a total of 14 nukes and a couple of a minute to midnight medals on my name, I ain’t the greatest player around but I can drop a nuke every here and there if I feel like it and the game is going my way but even so I disagree with lowering its value.
I would however agree that once a nuke plane spawns the tickets freeze so the game doesn’t instantly end (yes, no more a minute to midnight, RIP) so at least that way whoever is calling in for a nuke gets a chance to have a say in the matter, unless it gets intercepted which is totally fine either way.
I’m a bit caught between two stools.
I almost only see nukes in the extremely poorly balanced BR 8.0 to 9.0, where individual tanks are absolutely OP.
I’m a fairly average player and have only been able to launch a nuke twice with 10.7 and higher.
Once with the Leo 2A4 (successful) and once with the Leo 2A7 (arrived too late).
In the almost 100 games with the T55 AM -1 alone, I have launched a successful nuke and had the opportunity to do so 5 times towards the end of the game.
The SP would then have to be adapted to the BR.
In 12.7 you never see nukes. Because they are either not reached, because the tank survival time is simply too short, or because it’s not worth launching them, because the ancient jets are then blown out of the sky by the EF 2000.
I see the mechanics as an accessory that almost always ends an already decided match a little faster. It can stay that way, but otherwise it is not particularly significant.
There is currently one nuke runner on youtube lol he was using the BMD-4 and his fastest was 1 minute. Yes you heard that right, he reached the nuke requiment 1 minute into the game
