Nuclear weapons in naval battles?

If the atomic bomb was added to the naval battle , how to make the atomic bomb functional?
Or is there a similar mechanism that can replace the atomic bomb?
The biggest problem is that the power of the atomic bomb is not big enough in naval battles.
It seems strange and illogical to end a naval battle with a single tactical atomic bomb.
The Prinz Eugen was hit by two atomic bombs at a distance of 1,000 and 1,800 meters.
“But the Prinz Eugen, which was 1,194 yards from the center of the explosion, was only slightly damaged.”
“The Prinz Eugen, which was 1,990 yards from the center of the explosion, still survived and was not even seriously damaged.”
Unless a Tsar nuclear bomb is sent to each ship, otherwise it is hard to destroy every ship.

Able and Baker bombs were ~20kt, which is much less than you would use if aiming to take out an entire fleet. In nuclear yield terms these bombs were pretty weak. A nuclear torpedo aimed at a single target would have a warhead yield up to 10kt.

A large ship like the Eugen is built to withstand a lot of punishment but whilst she survived the blast that’s very different to saying she survived the tests (she actually sank from accumulated damage some time later). The ships used in these tests were packed with animals to simulate crews. These did not fare so well. In game the effect would be instant loss due to 0% crew even if the ship remained afloat.

The tests also showed that naval blasts performed better below water. An air burst does not have the ability to produce additional shrapnel when above open water as they would on land. But subsurface will result in a high pressure bubble and large fast moving waves much like a miniature tsunami (essentially an extreme torpedo)… These would result in even the largest ship taking catastrophic damage.

So basically all you need us a suitably sized bomb, with a surface/subsurface detonation and the radiation and water will do it equivalent to what heat and blast does on land.

I personally hope that such a mechanic will never be added to naval.
That a single player who has had a good game can easily turn the score around and give the victory to his team when the opposing team has done better as a whole does not seem very fair to me.

To win naval battles depends largely on the occupation of the points. But naval maps are so large that it’s impossible for one player to control all 3 points. And quite often many teammates can’t or don’t want to capture the points , making the gaming fail.Larger ships like BB can hardly capture points because they are slow. There has been a lot of times that I killed a lot of enemy but they respawn mtbs and capture 2 points then win the game.I can’t just J out frome my BB to respawn a mtb to fight against enemy mtb that want to capture points.

noway.

especially considering the state of naval AA…
