The ww1 event was great fun imo
The issue is that the only USSR premium that people tend to buy and are able to bring is the MiG-23ML and their only event options are the Su-25BM (which is worse than the Su-25T) and the MiG-25PD (terrible plane for the mode)
The US side gets to bring the premium F-4S, F/A-18 and F-20 and the event F-14 IRIAF

It would be faster for the USSR side of things. They could always just limit loadouts or change the preset planes I guess. I don’t know.
I understand where people are coming from, but at the same time I guess I personally don’t care about what the US side is flying.
I guess everyone is different. I find Ground events in general boring, due to how score works in them.
They could clearly make the teams arbitrary and let the player choose the reward track irrespective of nation. They choose not to for non-economic reasons.
That one also had massive balance issues but at least everyone had to play WW1 vehicles and not one part of the playerbase had to play that stuff while germany and france get Panzer 4s and shermans

They also balanced the mode. Made alot changes to nerf the german A7V tank f.e.
Here they just let it run. Just now I had a match with 3 F14 iriaf in my team. You might imagine that there was simply nothing to shot for my Phantom. They farmed the whole enemy team again and again until most left.
All you can do is to permanently re-join to find matches with primarily preset planes taking part.

F-15A and MiG-29 should be included in the preset. A-6 should be replaced by F-111F.
Additionally other nations should be allowed to play (they still get access to preset US and USSR planes for nuke purposes).
Germany, China and Italy (Hungary) go with USSR.
Everyone else with USA.

Honestly, just keep spamming nukes if you get in such a lobby
I mean tbf, its the first day but im really wondering who thought that it was a good idea to give everyone preset planes only except for 2 nations.

I can imagine that they let people bring other vehicles to allow them to earn more research points, but not including the better planes in the presets is just beyond stupid

The event is very poorly made, very crowded map with very poor layout of spawns and targets, it would have been more playable if it had arcade reload mechanics for weapons and air spawns, or was less crowded with a larger map and small teams. But instead we get this awful map that is so crowded with sam you legit cant fly above 100m without having missiles come at you from 10 differen OSAs, and on top of that no reloading and land spawns that make playing as an attacker such a bore.
The devs just keep proving they have no clue how to design fun coherent gameplay with the mechanics they add, they just know how to shove things in sideways and leave the playerbase to try to squeeze some fun out of things…
Which is a good decision from Gaijin, the rewards with a premium look really good. But it should have been so apparent what a balancing nightmare it would be and how unfair it is for people that didnt grind US or USSR.

The amount of players that own US premiums or the IRIAF massively inflate the US player count, there’s only one good USSR premium, the MiG-23ML. Neither the Su-39, Su-25BM or the MiG-25PD are worth bringing, so almost nobody bothers with them.
(well, I’ve been seeing plenty of MiG-25s, but I can’t imagine that people will keep spawning that after a while)
OSAs are intercepting Mach 3 AGM-88s. The map is covered by palm trees, which makes locking stuff through them impossible. TV-guided missiles are useless in this event.
