Yes, I understand air player need new modes and mechanics, all modes do. Difference is barrier to entry, with previous events main skill sets mostly irrelevant, new to all or quick to understand, but this one only for top tier air players, that had to learn complicated mechanics, set keybinds etc with door being shut to all others without watching 5h guide.
Original players of 2 nations being favoured with all other being forced to be farmed is other problem, it not fun or fair being seal clubbed. Issue is not about real equipment distribution, or china will win all game soon if all based on real equipment.
Solution is clear: Remove option to bring own planes, add proper tutorial and guide for new players to watch, game badly need tutorial either way, THAT the mechanic that should be tested.
Add pve mode and practice map for new player if mode is so difficult to get into too and experienced air players not want new players, so all get to have fun, and test still can take place.
Everyone should be happy then, no?

Gaijin said they would add strategic bombers as collectibles, so I doubt they would add TT versions

Thats the funny part.
They made the ARH unusable so now hardly anyone is testing them. It has basically become air rb but with infinite respawns.

These are collectibles.
There are upgraded variants that use smart weapons (and other improvements, apparently). Those could be TT.

F-15s with GBU-39 and AIM-9M, or F-14 IRAF with Fakour-90 while the stock default option for most is an F-4 with a non-existent radar and one of the worst Sparrows imaginable.
Honestly open up the matchmaker, let other nations also in. Germany with F-105/F-4 ICE/Tornado ASSTA1 or SLE and other nations too like China.
