Nuclear Thunder!

Go watch Hunter’s video on using them. The tldw of it is you wait for the OSA/Flarak to shoot at you, then lock and fire your harm at them and turn away without flaring. Let it chase you and your missile will kill them before theirs hits you, where it will then lose lock and you can pull away. It’s a slow process.

The better way to take them out is to just kill a few planes and then get the mini nuke and hit the spaa zones with them.

Im 100 % certain instead of nerfing the osa akms THEY buffed the flakrads in the newst “Fix” patch,
As before the patch you could actually flare and dodge flakrads with reasonable effort but NOOOO Instead of NERFIng the osa akms NO LETS MAKE THE FLAKRADS JUST AS BAD RIGHT? like please some1 tell im not the only who noticed this patch??

Well, this for sure is the most controversial april fools i ever saw in war thunder. First the US air supremacy, now USSR air supremacy, the totally op AAA’s imposible to dodge, the really long queues, the times when u get in a started match that will finish in 2-3 minutes and u gotta find for another one. Yep, i really miss the WW1 april fools.

actually? well I could really see with being constantly shotdown by the Spaas from behind a mountain but thats even more bs
legit just making the event as insufferable as they can

Getting killed by AA gives you no score points, today a good 80% of my deaths was because of spaa’s. i don’t even care anymore about those 2 bombers.

An event that should be for fun (and testing) turning into an unplayable nightmare. got enough of those crap behaviors. They can have my finger from now on.

This turned into a blatant moneygrab today with the update. I’m forced to GE both fifth stars. There was absolutely no reason to raise the SP reguired for the nukes.

They wanted us to do CAS and raised the nuke cost and buffed the SPAA.

I have a reason to believe they shadowbuffed russia again.

I was killed by it a couple times when I played the ali-cat on the first days of the event, throwing fakours at people and zooming past their front lines at high alt. The SA-17 and Hawk sites are the most lethal threats for anyone not flying a strategic bomber or multipathing.

Didn’t have high BR soviet stuff to try against the Patriot like I did the ali-cat on the opening days of the event.

Hm, I could’ve sworn the Phantoms could only do ~1250kph on deck before.

They literally didn’t touch either of them…

That’s one of the other things that irks me incredibly. The OSA’s, FlaRads, Buks, Hawks, Patriots and S-300s are EXTREMELY Overpowered in this event to the point even the Anti-radiation missiles you this time get (hurray, improvement over the previous events) are neigh-on unusable unless you accept you’re committing suicide - and if you get killed - 5 minutes of effort down the drain and 0 points.

The devs should realise they’re harvesting an enormous amount of hatred from the community over this. We can take stuff up to a certain level. This is already fifteen levels over.

Not that Ive found. They seem to sometimes go for chaff when you notch and other times they dont. But with the tiny CM count on the F-4E… Its only enough for 1 or 2 I find.

People are having fun so obliviously something is very wrong here(or had until they cut the reward in half)

April 8th changes made the event significantly worse. Without adjusting the SPAA behaviour, it fully preserved the ‘three corridor’ meta where central head-on rush and two flanking routes are the only ways to get anything, but now they got longer, with more travel time, more mandatory head-ons within SPAA bubble and less opportunities to fight.

The forward SPAA are still effectively impervious to damage since they consist of spread-out individual units that no weapon can destroy in a time- and cost-efficient manner, and them being up makes using small nukes on frontline ground target clusters a largely pointless gamble, so the game mode remains reduced to just two activities - ‘head-on collider’ and ‘airfield base rush’, it’s just 4 times as tedious between increased travel and reduced points and score income.

If AI SPAA rework is not in the cards, then the latest batch of changes needs to be rolled back.
